Southland’s Main Exports in 2000 and Future Projections For 2025 IELTS Writing Task 1

Trade volume is dominated by the international tourism industry, with the dairy industry coming in second. In comparison to the latter, which reached this amount in 2020, the former is anticipated to reach it in 2025. TComparatively speaking, the exports of meat products lag far behind those of the other two categories; the highest level ever was 6 billion pounds.

Examining the patterns from 2000 to 2020 reveals that both the tourism and dairy industries have prospered. Additionally, this increase was very rapid in the dairy industry, going from just over 6 billion pounds in 2000 to 10 billion pounds in 2020. On the other hand, although the decline is not significant, meat exports continue to fall.

According to the graph, global tourism is expected to increase and generate 10 billion pounds in trade by 2025. It is anticipated that less than a billion pounds will be lost in Southland's export of dairy and meat products.

When all of these industries are analyzed, international tourism shows a steady increase while meat exports show a steady decline. The only industry with a varying graph is the dairy industry, which is expected to see a slight decline in 2025 after experiencing a sharp rise between 2000 and 2020.

International tourism was an 8 billion pounds industry in 2000. Since then it has only increased further to become a 9 billion pounds industry in 2020. It is predicted to touch the 10 billion mark in 2025.

Dairy products sector amounted to 7 billion pounds in 2000. Since then it has seen record growth to reach the 10 billion pounds mark in 2020. This is the highest rise so far in all of the main exports of Southland. But the dairy sector is predicted to witness a decline of little less than a billion pounds in 2025.

Meat products exports have always amounted to a humble contribution as in 2000. Their trade volume was worth 6 billion pounds, the least of all exports listed in the chart. Since then, the Meat exports have been on decline and the business amounts to little more than 5 billion pounds in 2020. It is predicted to fall below 5 billion pounds by 2025.

The data, at first glance, tells us that international tourism and Dairy products are worth an almost equal amount of trade. However, the export of meat products has a significantly lower contribution.
International tourism has recorded a uniform rise in its trade volume. It is predicted to rise as well while meat exports have recorded a uniform fall in its trade volume and is predicted to decline further. Dairy products exports are a mixed bag because they did show a rise from 2000 to 2020. A rise of more than 3 billion which is the highest rise among all exports listed. But its trade volume is predicted to show a decline of little less than a billion pounds by 2025.
