Something you did which was a Waste of Time Cue Card

When you did it?

Here I will be able to mention a recent occasion once I wasted my time. It was last Sunday. Being a workman, I always prepare a checklist every Saturday evening regarding the pending work associated with the office and house to finish it with planning. I did so last weekend too. But on Sunday, although I had set an alarm to awaken at 9 am, I turned it off and awakened at 11 am instead. Even after I got up, I did nothing but just went through my phone for approximately an hour while lying in bed.

How you did it?

At noon I went downstairs to the kitchen and had some breakfast then I sat and watched some TV. Although I had some pending paperwork, I also had to scrub a load of laundry and also had a broom, mop, and mud in my room. I just leaned on the couch watching cartoons. At 2 pm I finally got up and visited to take a shower. At 3 pm some guests dropped by our house and by the time they left it had been 4:30 pm already.

And explain why it was a waste of time.

I finally realized that quite half the day was gone and that I had such a lot of work accumulated. I put the garments in the washer and began cleaning my room. After doing that I felt really tired and I just sat down and began surfing the web to relax. I got a call from one of my colleagues at around 7 pm who asked me whether I had completed the important paperwork. I thanked him for jogging my memory of it. On the other hand, my mother called upon me to return to the kitchen as I had promised her that I’d prepare dinner that night. I didn't want to disappoint her so I rushed to the kitchen and commenced making pasta and bread. At 9 pm I visited my room after dinner.

When you did it?

I remembered that “within the future" at some point in the morning last week, I visited the office. I turned on the pc and began to figure out while I opened the webpage of weibo.com, a domestic micro-blog website. I used to be soon attracted by the news and a few interesting micro-blogs that were posted by my friends. I read through the articles and left my comments sometimes. Then, I refreshed the browser incessantly to see whether there was something new on the front page.

How you did it?

It had been a waste of your time because eventually, I found myself ending up without doing anything about my work except browsing the web pages in the morning.

I believe that social network is often an outsized time-waster. Many of us spend much of our day tweeting, liking, and posting status updates.

And explain why it was a waste of time.

Moreover, these internet tools are acting as a hindrance within the office because the staff’s attention is going to be distracted from their jobs. So to wait in their working hours and that they even procrastinate their tasks until the deadline.

When you did it?

Last week, I took a while out of my hectic schedule and visited to watch a Bollywood movie with my friend. Before I decide to watch any movie, I do read critics so that my time isn't wasted. However, I used to be in a hurry at this point, so I booked movie tickets.

How you did it?

When the movie started I couldn't understand the story and everything within the movie seemed rubbish. All comedy scenes were illogical. The storyline of the movie was also very bad. It seemed that the actors didn't perform at their best. it had been very difficult to take a seat in the cinema. My friend insisted I watch this movie till the end.

And explain why it was a waste of time.

I got a sigh of relief at the end of the movie. it had been an enormous waste of your time. Rather than watching a movie, I'd have gone shopping or celebrated with friends. So, this was the time I wasted. As I used to be tired, I again laid down for a short time and began watching a movie. Although I realized that I had to try to do paperwork, I kept wasting my time watching that movie.
