Band 7.5 IELTS Essay

There are many different viewpoints on the value of watching sporting events. And the phenomena of spending time watching sports has recently sparked widespread worries within diverse circles. Although some claim that watching sports takes up a lot of time, I believe that doing so might have a number of advantages.

The public can pick up new skills by watching sports events on television, especially in the case of players. This is likely the most important benefit of all the reasons why it would be helpful to watch sporting activities. It is crucial to remember that practicing tactics is equivalent to learning new talents. Athletes can practice and study techniques from their competitors while lounging on their couches at home. For instance, soccer players can acquire more than just ball-dribbling techniques by observing other games. They can also learn how to plan their attacks strategically before each round.

Despite the fact that we can learn new talents by watching others. We should never forget that watching sports can also serve as pleasure for the general public. Helping them to decompress after a stressful day at work. For instance, residents of a large metropolis like Hong Kong frequently have to put in extra hours to meet the demands of their senior staff. Which puts a tremendous amount of stress on the workers. So that the stress brought on by the demanding work can be removed. It is crucial that people can put their jobs aside and enjoy watching sporting events with their closest friends after work. To maintain their physical and mental well, this in turn benefits them in opting a good work life balance.

In conclusion, watching sports can help society learn new technical skills. It can also unquestionably raise residents' quality of life. In the future, it is hoped that sporting events will be made available to the general public.

Band 8.5 IELTS Essay

Many different sports are enjoyed by sports enthusiasts around the world, and they have recently become popular leisure activities. However, some individuals claim that this is a waste of time and advise choosing outdoor activities in its place. While I do not believe that watching sports on television is a waste of time. I do believe that there should be a balance between watching sports and engaging in other social and leisure activities.

First of all, watching sports is a great way to unwind and occupy yourself. For many people, it is even a passion. Additionally, watching sports with people is a terrific method to socialize and improve the relationship. For instance, watching live sports on television has become a communal activity and a means of communication in my nation. However, it is not advised to sit in front of a TV for hours on end while watching various sports and doing nothing.

Contrarily, many people contend that engaging in daily sports watching is not a good habit or a healthy pastime. Because this time would be better spent participating in other social activities and skill-building programs. People who spend most of their time watching television grow lonely and pick up poor eating habits. Thus, many claim that there are no real advantages to watching sports on television. They vouch for the health benefits and advantages of engaging in outdoor sports.

Some sporting events must be observed on television because they must be attended but are also physically impossible to attend. Similar to how not everyone can afford to fly and stay when the Olympic games are hosted in a single nation every four years. Or If your country's national team is competing in the finals, the game might be viewed as a family event where everyone gathers to watch and support.

To sum up, we must maintain a balance in our leisure activities. While participating in sports is a terrific way to unwind and mingle with others, doing so excessively might be detrimental. To maintain a healthy lifestyle, we must select a wide range of different leisure activities, particularly outdoor activities.

Band 9 IELTS Essay

Some individuals believe that watching sports is a huge waste of time. I reject this point of view. Sports viewing, in my opinion, can strengthen community relationships and encourage a healthy way of life among people.

People can unite and support their teams by watching sports together on television or from the stands. Together, spectators at a game may represent a variety of socioeconomic statuses, political philosophies, and religious perspectives. However, they only care about one thing when they watch the game, and that is for their team to win. It goes without saying that sporting activities bring people together and aid in erasing divides. They all enjoy celebrating when their team wins an international game. Even people's patriotism is sparked by sports.

Sports viewing has many advantages beyond just fostering community. People are motivated to maintain their fitness and lead better lives when they see their favorite athletes in action. Teenagers in particular idolize sports figures and strive to live like them. It goes without saying that those who often watch sporting events prefer to lead active lifestyles. Moreover, they are healthier. For instance, a recent study found that gym memberships increased by 30% during the just-concluded World Cup of Football. In contrast, doing other things during downtime, such as viewing other television programs, does not have this effect. This is due to the content's lack of inspiration and its failure to inspire readers to adopt a new way of life.

Thus, it is clear that watching sports in leisure time inspires individuals to exercise and lead healthier lives. In the long run, children might become less stressed and contribute to becoming more active children. People also have a responsibility to engage in outside activities like working out, going to the gym. And playing sports with friends rather than becoming overly dependent on watching such sports channels.

Watching sports is not a waste of time, to sum it up. It encourages better community relationships and has a good influence on people by motivating them to follow a healthier lifestyle.
