Band 7 IELTS Essay

The normal workplace has changed as a result of technology, which has developed to play a significant role in our daily lives. A large portion of people believe that using modern technology improves the lives of employees, while detractors believe the opposite. The two perspectives mentioned above will be discussed in this essay, which will conclude logically. A cutting-edge workplace, on the other hand, employs the most recent developments in business strategies, design, and technology. We can create products, communicate with clients, and conduct commercial marketing more effectively thanks to modern technology. Additionally, accuracy is improved by the dozens of analytical formulas found in contemporary spreadsheets like Excel. Employees can accurately maintain inventory, create and record sales, track and pay bills, and conduct pay cheques owing to accounting software. A business can maintain its competitiveness and offer the highest-quality services or goods by having access to the most recent technology. Additionally, it strengthens security. While it was formerly simple to steal vital information, technological safety nets have made it practically hard to steal or leak data today. Last but not least, modern technology supports organisational efficiency by enabling tools. Like project management tools to build, delegate, review, and evaluate tasks flawlessly. On the other side, an organisation may have to invest thousands of dollars to purchase the most recent technology or software. Additionally, the costs of maintaining the purchased technology increase. Furthermore, if employees are overly dependent on technology, they may not be able to finish duties after it is turned off. For instance, a company that runs entirely online may not be able to process orders at all if the website goes down. Or factories may need to stop work if a robot on a production line malfunctions. The ethical implications of technology may also be problematic. Employees may, for instance, decide to use work time to conduct personal Internet browsing.

Band 7.5 IELTS Essay

Technology has both blessings and curses, however it is arguable if the beneficial impact on employees' lives outweighs the negative. Utilizing technology can take several forms, including using computers, robotics, and contemporary machinery with programmable controllers.

In fact, the use of modern means for doing an activity has led to the automation of labor. Cutting a piece of wood by hand takes a carpenter an hour; a machine can accomplish it in a matter of seconds. Conglomerate balance sheets were once managed by accountants, but today a single accountant may handle such jobs with the use of software. They believe their job security is at jeopardy because some blue-collar workers have been supplanted by technology.

In contrast to this, technology has a cost. Not every business has the financial means to replace cheap labor with any kind of technology. The main advantage that a manual worker has over a machine is that the latter has certain restrictions. While the former may perform a variety of activities. Modern technology can perform monotonous chores relatively effectively, but manual labor is still used to complete creative work.

A corporation is also aware of the cost associated with hiring a new employee. The added cost of owning modern equipment is just one of the many drawbacks. When a corporation purchases a machine. For instance, its thorough calculations show that workers are superior to such technology. Because the fixed cost of the machine combined with a variable element increases the value of the product that the firm is creating.

In conclusion, I firmly believe that, despite the introduction of several technical improvements. Employees will always be the main source of revenue for every corporation. Therefore, there are no negative effects for the employees. Personally, I think that while technology may occasionally hurt employees' interests, it primarily aids in making tasks more productive and efficient. To provide an example, tunnel-digging was originally thought to be a very hard operation. But today, with the aid of the newest technology, such as automation and robotics, this can be done effortlessly while sitting in an air-conditioned chamber.

Band 8 IELTS Essay

The development of technology has had a significant impact on humanity, particularly the working class. While some think it has helped the workers, others disagree with their assertion. This essay will analyze both arguments and support the idea that employees will benefit from this progress.

The amount of work that employees have to do has drastically decreased since autonomous technology has been implemented in businesses. Previously, 10–20 people were needed to complete the activities; now, one machine handles them. Additionally, the accuracy and performance of these devices have improved in corporate projects. A mouse click can be used to sort and display the data. For instance, we can describe every component of a project in a Powerpoint presentation without having to transport a large number of documents.

Others, however, equally condemn the issues that this innovation has caused. The main cause is that as technical equipment has been developed, the demand for labor has decreased, which has led to an increase in unemployment rates. According to a survey conducted by the Economic Forum of India, 25% of workers have lost their jobs in the last three years. Others debate the dangers associated with operating massive machinery in the manufacturing industry. The workers who utilize the equipment could sustain catastrophic injury if it malfunctions.

Personally, I believe that workers have benefited much from technology. While it is true that some employment was lost as a result, many more jobs were generated in other areas. By taking the necessary precautions, safety risks can also be greatly reduced. Sometimes a minor error leads to an accident that kills a worker. Last but not least, some employees struggle at work. Because they lack the necessary technological skills to understand new programs and other types of technology. Therefore, new technology may require certain employees to operate outside of their comfort zones, which may lead to conflict or resistance.

In conclusion, there are advantages and disadvantages to using technology in the workplace. However, if job loss and safety concerns are appropriately managed, it will surely change staff productivity and employee performance.
