Topic: Some people think that having a set retirement age (e.g. 65 years) for everybody regardless of occupation is unfair. They believe that certain workers deserve to retire and receive a pension at an earlier age. Do you agree or disagree? Which types of workers do you think should benefit from early retirement? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Band 8 IELTS Essay

When they reach retirement age, every employee takes time off from work and receives compensation for the services they have rendered to their company. Many nations set an arbitrary retirement age (for example, 65). Nevertheless, some people reach this age already mentally and physically worn out. Some people believe the fixed age is suitable, while others believe it should be more flexible with exceptions for specific professions.

Since people tend to get weaker as they age, I believe that having a predetermined retirement age is healthier for everyone. People have a variety of talents that may be needed in a variety of domains. To perform their duties, certain professions require physical stamina. The most practical and fair solution is to have a predetermined retirement age because physical stamina and strength decline with age. However, I think a tribunal may be established to decide whether employees are qualified for a pension at a younger age. Two types of workers might benefit from early retirement. For instance, those who work in construction, mining, and welding must endure difficult and physically taxing situations.

Others work in high-stress settings where sound judgment is essential for maintaining public safety. People can be divided into huge groups, but it might be challenging to distribute pensions in accordance with these categories because each person's working life is unique. However, many people still deserve an early retirement, and in some circumstances, our well-being can depend on it. Workers in coal mines have demanding tasks that need a lot of strength and endurance, both of which decline with age. On the other hand, library employees don't require a lot of physical strength. However, long-term employees who have accrued experience should be granted early retirement so that unemployed people can obtain work. Finally, it is unfair to set the retirement age at the same level for all workers. workers who require more physical effort, such as air traffic controllers and emergency medical technicians. For instance, drivers ought to stop working early. All day long, driving demands a higher level of concentration. Workers who have worked for their firm for a longer period of time should be permitted to retire early.

Band 7 IELTS Essay

Humans spend about a third of their precious time working for survival in this competitive and modern period. It would not be proper for a few workers to retire at a young age without understanding their position at the organisation. Others argue that some types of employees are more deserving of early retirement with a pension. I completely agree with the statement and address both sides, as well as which group would profit the most from early retirement.

To begin with, humans, being one of the most intellectual species on the planet, put in long hours to achieve their objectives. If employed people are required to retire at a certain age, it will be a good opportunity for those who have just graduated from reputable colleges. The new generation is full of energy and eagerness to try something new if given the opportunity. Many organisations would replace older employees with freshly graduated kids who have man skills and technical understanding. People over the age of 65 would spend the remaining years of their lives with their family and friends. There should be a set retirement age for the general people, regardless of where they work.

However, in certain occupations, the human body, abilities, stamina, and talent are only relevant for a limited time. Actors, athletes, and bodybuilders are examples of occupations that retire at a young age. Their careers in these industries begin at a young age and end before other employees work in a new sector. These folks earn a lot of money in a shorter amount of time than others. People, in my opinion, should retire at a particular age. Due to this, the next generation may utilise their knowledge and talents to produce something new for the nation and learn new skills. While some short-term spam employees deserve to retire at a young age.

To summarise, various types of employment have varied retirement age limits, and it all relies on the kind of job. Few people can retire at a young age, while others must wait until they reach the government-set retirement age.

Band 6.5 IELTS Essay

It is unjust to establish a retirement age of 65 years old without taking into account the kind of job that individuals do. I feel that based on the sort of occupation; we should be able to judge who is more deserving of an early retirement than others. On a personal level, working beyond retirement age allows people to stay physically and psychologically engaged.

Some jobs need a physical capacity to operate under strain and stress. This is significantly more difficult for older employees than for younger colleagues, putting them in danger of accidents and health problems. Because of their age, their bodies are unable to fit or sustain the required effort. Some employees want a big pension to financially support their family, such as for their daughters' weddings, thus they must retire sooner to get the pension. People are able to live longer and contribute more to a nation's economic success in recent years. It is because of the improvements in the healthcare sector and higher living standards. Some people regard this as a completely beneficial development, while others see the disadvantages of working beyond retirement age.

Moreover, some employees have major chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and other cardiovascular problems that need care and specific treatment. Otherwise, they risk strokes and heart failure, putting their health in jeopardy and making it difficult to continue working. Some occupations, on the other hand, value experience above physical exertion. For example, consulting in a bank or any other investing business. It requires individuals who are more knowledgeable and skilled than those who work hard. As a result, the company's senior workers are more knowledgeable and valuable than others. This prompts employers to set the retirement age higher than for other professions. Because their expertise and experience will be required by the organisation in the future. To summarise, although working beyond retirement age carries health risks and lowers productivity, I believe the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks. Firms and enterprises should actively engage their employees to stay productive beyond retirement age. In my view, they can achieve this by measuring their aptitude and customising their tasks to their health profile.
