Band 6.5 IELTS Essay

Professional athletes' ability to act inappropriately while still doing successfully on the field is sometimes disputed. Despite the fact that I acknowledge their freedom to do so, I believe that as public figures they should be mindful of how they behave in society. Sports are a brutal arena where one's athletic prowess is praised rather than their good character, similar to other competitive professions. When a skilled player tackles an opponent to gain possession of the ball, it can be difficult to determine who is right or wrong. His behaviours could be motivated by a variety of factors, including the pressured environment, which could cause him to behave inappropriately. Furthermore, the fundamental definition of misconduct has recently been significantly misconstrued. Moreover, these sports celebrities are the same as other everyday people. And no one has the legal authority to interfere with them in pursuing their objectives or fulfilling their wants. Since most individuals are not in their situations, the public outcry over their alleged wrong behaviour appears to be clearly unfair. Contrarily, it is generally accepted that athletes, both men and women, have a significant impact on a wide range of spectators. As sports attempt to promote excellence, good sportsmanship is occasionally reported to have maintained the top priority. They take on the role of exceptional ambassadors for their countries and the fandom's sense of pride. So it is without a doubt essential to behave appropriately both on and off the field. Furthermore, it is said that young people are greatly impacted by the role models they look up to. As a result, professional athletes have a duty to serve as role models for the young. And any unintended misbehaviour on their part would have a negative impact on the growth and awareness of their younger audiences. In light of this, the champions' actions are also very important to avoid causing certain conflicts or particular complaints. Even though they are legally entitled to pursue their desires and requirements.

Professional athletes' ability to act badly as long as they are successful on the field is frequently contested. As public icons, they should, in my opinion, be mindful of their own conduct both in the game and in society. Even though I agree that they have the freedom to pursue their own personalities.

Sports are a brutal arena where one's athletic prowess rather than excellent character is celebrated, similar to other competitive professions. When a skilled player tackles an opponent to gain possession of the ball, it can be difficult to determine who is in the right or wrong. His actions may be inadvertent or for a variety of reasons, including the pressured environment which may have caused him to respond inappropriately. Furthermore, the fundamental definition of misconduct has recently been significantly misconstrued. Off the field, these elite athletes are no different from other everyday people. And no one has the legal right to interfere with their ability to satisfy their wishes or achieve their objectives. Such public response against their alleged improper behaviour appears to be patently unjust because most people are not in their shoes.

On the other hand, it is generally accepted that athletes have a significant impact on a wide range of fans in addition to the perception of their nations. It is occasionally reported that, as sports attempt to promote excellence, sportsmanship has remained the top focus. The importance of acting properly both on and off the field cannot be overstated. Because those athletes serve as exceptional ambassadors for their countries and the sentiments of pride of their supporters. Furthermore, it is claimed that young people are greatly influenced by the role models they look up to. As a result, professional athletes have a duty to serve as role models for the young. And any unintentional misbehaviour on their part would have a negative impact on the growth and awareness of their younger viewers.

Taking everything into account, the athletes' actions are also very important to avoid causing certain conflicts or particular complaints. Even though they are legally entitled to pursue their wishes and needs.

Band 8 IELTS Essay

Some people think it's fine for professional athletes to act improperly either on the job or off the field as long as their results are strong. As a sports enthusiast, I vehemently disagree that athletes have the right to use their best skills to display improper behaviour. The two grounds for my statement are clearly explained in the following section of this essay. As normal citizens, we have a responsibility to uphold socially moral norms. And sports players' have a great influence on viewers' behaviour, particularly that of teens.

Initially, people have a responsibility to act responsibly based on fundamental moral standards in society. Therefore, professional athletes have no justification for condoning their wrongdoing and should instead behave morally. For instance, Adam Johnson, a former Premier League soccer player, was charged with rape. Even though his career was at its height, he was still incarcerated at the time. This illustrates how committing crimes or acting immorally would cost a court appearance and condemnation. Regardless of how successful a sportsman's career is or how important a position a player holds in the sports world.

The majority of supporters are teenagers, and professional athletes who play for well-known clubs have a significant influence on how they behave. Due to their exceptional performances, youngsters often identify their sports heroes as perfectionists and try to emulate them in their personal life. As a result, adolescents may see the immoral behaviour of sportspeople as normal. It could culminate in social collapse caused by the degradation of the next generation.

In conclusion, despite their high calibre performances, I completely disagree with the idea that professional athletes can act immorally on or off the field. Because it is our personal responsibility to uphold fundamental moral standards in society. And also because of the significant impact on adolescent followers who later go on to shape society.
