Band 6.5 IELTS Essay

It is beyond dispute that humankind has advanced over time in terms of both technological and social advancements and innovations. However, many seasoned historians and archaeologists believe that in terms of understanding, our prehistoric civilizations were not far behind.

There is no denying that today's technology is far more advanced than that of the preceding century if we make that comparison. When we consider how far we have come in the last century in terms of communication and transportation technology innovation, we can only say that. For instance, if someone had mentioned the internet, satellite television, or radio two hundred years ago, it would have been regarded as science fiction. The invention of vehicles, helicopters, and airplanes occurred just over a century ago. The industrial revolution and medical advancements of the last two centuries have fundamentally changed how we live now.

Although we might not be aware of the historical technologies, we cannot say that they did not exist. Archaeologists from all across the world have discovered several buried artifacts that show how advanced ancient civilizations were. For instance, during the archaeological studies in India's Harappa and Lothal. The researchers discovered signs of well-paved roads, drainage systems, and operational ports that may have been created some 5,000 years ago. Additionally, the Egyptian pyramids provide evidence of extremely sophisticated civilisation. And biological knowledge predominated on this planet even before 5,000 years ago. By no means can the preservation of the pyramid's construction and the dead people (also known as mummies) to this day be seen as a trivial achievement.

I tend to agree with the idea that the human race has witnessed a revolution of knowledge beyond anything that has ever happened in the last two centuries. Without any hard evidence, it would be unfair to our ancient culture to label it as outdated when comparing it to the modern world.

Band 8.5 IELTS Essay

Some people think that ignorance reigned during the ancient era. Others, however, disagree with the idea because they believe it overvalued current accomplishments and undervalues the worth of the time. Ancient cultures, in my perspective, are equally great and prosperous as contemporary cultures. In that they have laid a strong foundation for subsequent advancement.

Undoubtedly, there have been numerous advancements made in all facets of life in the modern era. The first improvement is in literacy. This increases the number of people who have access to books and cutting-edge knowledge. For instance, over 95% of people are literate in Korea. Therefore, the majority is informed or at the very least has access to information if they so choose. Second, science has advanced significantly. The average lifespan has increased to approximately 100 years because of technological advancements and extensive research on the human body and medicine.

However, there were still notable and valuable cultures in the ancient world, and they served as a priceless foundation for the current developed culture. The alphabet and word symbols were first created. They standardized the terms in accordance with the natural world and the surrounding environment. Second, the growth of science was made possible by the ancient people.

They had agricultural practices developed over time, such as keeping crops underground for colder temperatures. It afterwards turned into the source of freezers. Third, numerous artists were inspired by the various forms of art that had been created. From cave wall paintings to items decorated beautifully, everything was created. These had an impact on designers and artists. The old civilization clearly laid a solid foundation for modern growth, as a result.

In conclusion, despite the fact that ancient culture has had a significant deal of influence on current culture, it still holds great worth. People who dismiss old cultures as being dumb do not take into account what they have contributed to current society. Therefore, we must respect the great civilizations that have been passed down and accurately determine their worth.

Band 9 IELTS Essay

Humans transitioned from using tools made of rocks to living in skyscrapers over the course of a few thousand years. Whether our achievements are more valuable than those of our forefathers is a topic of much discussion. They are, in my opinion, without a doubt. The truth is that humankind has made much more progress in the last fifty years than it did in the previous 5000.

The prehistoric man was a cave dweller with little knowledge of the outside world. They hunted animals with rocks. It took them a very long time to learn how to farm. But as soon as they had enough to eat and a secure place to live, humans began to make great strides. Many of the accomplishments they made are still a mystery to us today. For instance, despite the fact that only basic tools were available at the time, we still do not understand how the enormous pyramids of Egypt were constructed.

Furthermore, prehistoric humans traversed the world without the benefit of cutting-edge ships or sophisticated navigational tools like GPS. To give an example, early people built their ships out of tree trunks and used only the stars to steer them while they were on the move.

However, there are many reasons to think that modern man has accomplished far more. We can now live better lives than our ancestors did because of contemporary technologies. Thanks to the development of the internet, we can now speak with anyone, anywhere in the world. For instance, families can use Skype to hold a live video conference call that gives the impression that everyone is in the same room.

Thanks to modern medicine and knowledge of improved lifestyles, people can today live considerably longer and in better health. Undoubtedly, current technology allows us to enjoy a wide range of activities that were before impractical.

In conclusion, I firmly feel that modern technology and our accomplishments are more valuable than what our ancestors accomplished. Even though some of their accomplishments are still a mystery to us today because of our limited understanding of the first humans and their knowledge.
