Topic: In a number of countries, some people think it is necessary to spend large sums of money on constructing new railway lines for very fast trains between cities. Others believe the money should be spent on improving existing public transport. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Band 7 IELTS Essay

Because of improvements in transportation technology, the world is getting faster. While it is not a good idea to spend a lot of money on transportation systems that are already available on quicker commuter lines. Investing in current public transportation infrastructure is seen as the best option in the majority of developing countries.

On the one hand, it is crucial to increase funding for preserving or enhancing public transportation. And on the other hand, the current common modes of transportation are in need of repair as a result of frequent use. For instance, because many residents frequently use common transportation alternatives like buses, trains, and bicycle routes. There is less time available for routine maintenance. Nevertheless, they should be changed by adding improved amenities. Thus, research demonstrates that building on already existing facilities is a significantly more effective strategy to raise demand for usage.

Contrarily, investing in intercity trains with quicker routes will have a greater positive impact on both the transportation of people and goods. For instance, new forms of electric track will enable passengers to travel more quickly and affordably than on airplanes. And there will typically be less waiting time, which is impossible at an airport given the lengths of time required for security screenings and boarding. For any nation, upgrading existing infrastructure will be less expensive than forking over more cash to build faster railways. Therefore, it is clear that spending on express railroads can help the nation's economy grow.

In my opinion, spending on quicker railroads should go hand in hand with the expansion of the current infrastructure. Because 90% of people frequently use public transportation to meet their daily needs. However, with less passenger service, the faster lines are largely utilized in the logistical aspect. Therefore, the wisest course of action is to fund the expansion of the available infrastructure as well as express railroads.

In conclusion, there will be fewer opportunities to expand both public and express trains at the same time. Due to most government considerations and their economic clout. Countries will be able to reserve money for existing infrastructure improvement. Which is necessary to improve living conditions for their citizens, if they can establish a better economy through speedier transit.

Band 7.5 IELTS Essay

Comfortable living is greatly aided by transportation. It is frequently believed that constructing train networks to link cities should receive a significant percentage of the budget. Some, though, could argue that the money would be better used to enhance the existing transportation options. I'll be debating both claims in this essay, coming to a judgment, and offering my own viewpoint.

On the one hand, keeping up with technology breakthroughs nowadays is crucial. The provision of suitable transportation infrastructure is one strategy to build a progressive city. For instance, Pasig City, one of the Philippines' densest cities, has a high proportion of workers. Who use public transportation to get to and from their workplaces. Interlink train networks must be built in order to accommodate the needs of the labor force. People will be more productive at work if these are created since they will spend less time on crowded highways.

However, such significant advancements are too expensive, particularly for developing nations. Priority should be given to other transportation-related factors. For instance, the countryside is connected to the city itself by existing rail transit, jeepneys, and buses. However, because they are insufficient, residents find it difficult to use these amenities. The government should then utilize the funding to increase the number of public transportation options and set requirements to improve programs.

In other regions of the world, it is thought that building cutting-edge railway lines should be a top priority to connect different cities. Others, though, believe that it is simply a waste of money. I believe that these funds should be put to use improving the current transportation options. In this manner, extra funds might be used for additional construction.

Band 8 IELTS Essay

In many countries, some people believe that funding the building of high-speed train lines connecting cities is essential. While the majority of the population believes that the funds would be better used to improve the nation's already-existing public transportation system. Each school of thinking has advantages and disadvantages.

Let's start by discussing the need for high-speed railways to connect cities. Because of the growing interdependence of our economies. It is critical that people and goods move quickly between large cities. We may now play and work on a really global scale thanks to the airline industry's explosive rise. The most popular form of transportation for getting between cities is flying because it is affordable, quick, and highly effective. However, it has brought with it its own issues, chief among them the enormous amount of air pollution that harms human health.

The high-speed trains enter the picture at this point. They are powered by energy, which eliminates air pollution if it is produced using sustainable resources like solar and hydropower. The locomotives of today are extremely quiet, and as a result, noise pollution is even being reduced. Additionally, they will be much less expensive to produce than airplanes. High speed rail lines already exist in great quantities in France, Japan, and China.

Public transportation allows people to move around the city, unlike high-speed trains that link cities. Concrete buildings and family cars have overtaken today's bustling metropolises. Personal automobiles have improved travel comfort. But they have also significantly increased pollution. Many individuals are aware of this and are motivated to clean up cities for coming generations by reducing air pollution. More individuals will desire to use public transportation if the government makes investments in it.

In conclusion, I believe that constructing high-speed rail lines connecting cities and improving public transportation will address two distinct issues. Therefore, in order to build a more sustainable and clean future. I believe that both concepts are equally necessary and should receive the funding they require.
