Band 8 IELTS Essay

The expansion of the tourism sector is supporting the economies of numerous nations. People think that the tourism sector significantly improves the economy, culture, and general state of affairs. On the other hand, detractors assert that the tourism sector has a wide range of detrimental effects on both the environment and people.

My intention in writing this essay is to present both sides of this contentious issue and to share my own personal viewpoint. It is obvious that the expansion of the tourism sector is correlated with economic growth. The growth of the primary sector benefits this industry's various subsectors. Almost everywhere they go, tourists can be seen making use of a range of services, including dining, lodging, shopping, and entertainment.

In order to meet the demand, numerous dining establishments, lodging facilities, and theme parks have been constructed. Airline services enable tourists to visit the destinations on their bucket lists. A lot of abandoned areas have also been repurposed for tourism thanks to the tourism industry. Second, travelling and discovering new places allows people to interact culturally with others from different nations. Many nations today use tourism as a tool to promote their rich cultural heritage, delectable cuisine, and the future of their societies.

The Dao, Tay, and other ethnic minorities' customs and practices, for instance, can be observed by tourists in Sapa or the nearby mountains in Vietnam. It might not be like what Europeans are used to. It's probable that it differs from contemporary living in Europe. However, a lot of people think it could transmit deadly diseases and has a harmful impact on the environment. Another issue is overcrowding in some tourist areas, which could impact wildlife and marine life. Some tourist areas also struggle with littering because of the waste that visitors leave behind. On the other hand, tourism has the ability to transfer viruses that cause sickness. For instance, international travel is a significant contributor to the global effort to protect people against harmful viruses like the coronavirus.

Based on its advantages, I think that there are many more benefits to tourism than disadvantages. However, people must take action to mitigate the negative impacts of the tourism industry and make reasonable use of the revenue it generates.

Band 6 IELTS Essay

The tourist industry has grown to become one of the world's most valuable sectors in recent decades, with a market capitalization estimated to be in the billions. A significant increase in the number of tourists has been observed. This has resulted in a growth in the number of resorts, hotels, and tour operators on the other side. Many difficulties are associated with this form of organization, yet some people believe that there are far more benefits than drawbacks to this type of enterprise.

Tourism provides numerous benefits, the first and most obvious of which is an increase in revenue generated by travelers. Tourists can have an impact on the country's finances by spending money in specific locations, which will open the door for additional investment in important regions. On the other side, an increase in the number of travelers in a certain area might have an impact on the prices of goods and services. As more people go to specific cities and resorts, the prices associated with doing so will rise. The idea that people who travel can learn about different cultures is receiving more and more acceptance. This is merely a result of the new, multicultural world in which we now find ourselves living. The more we learn about and encounter different cultures, the more we come to appreciate them, which may result in a reduction in stereotypical thinking and bigotry. Traveling by airline, vehicle, or boat, on the other hand, can have a negative impact on global warming. As a result of globalization, the amount of air and water pollution is increasing, resulting in a slew of environmental issues.

Finally, travelers who purchase meals or souvenirs have an impact on not only the nation's finances, but also on the local economy. Locals are able to operate their businesses, including shops, restaurants, bars, and cafes, because of them. Despite the fact that I sympathize with this point of view, foreigners have the potential to demolish landmarks and cultural institutions. Aside from that, they frequently litter, sometimes without even realizing it, causing inconvenience to the domestic workers who live nearby.

To summarize, it is undeniable that the tourism business has a lot of drawbacks, but the benefits, in my opinion, outweigh these drawbacks. To summarize, it is critical to remember how to maintain local locations, such as wild beaches or even streets, in order to achieve a healthy balance between the positive and negative aspects of life.

Band 7 IELTS Essay

In many countries, tourism has become a key economic contributor. Some feel that tourism can have a positive impact on a country, while others argue that it can have a negative one. In order to have a better knowledge of this contentious subject, I will evaluate the viewpoints expressed above and offer my own thoughts on the matter.

The tourism industry has unquestionably contributed significantly to the growth of a country's economy while also promoting cross-cultural understanding. One of the key reasons for the expansion of its subcategories, other services, is due to this industry. Tourism, for example, has a significant impact on the growth of airline services. This type of service has grown in popularity as the number of individuals traveling has increased. Furthermore, tourism-related activities help to promote cross-border cultural exchanges. The unique features may pique their interest and encourage them to learn more about the many ethnic groups represented in Vietnam.

Despite these benefits, many people believe that the tourism industry is responsible for a wide range of environmental harms, including the spread of deadly illnesses. Tourists' movements and a lack of knowledge about local folk traditions are to blame for these detrimental effects. When they arrive at a new tourist destination, they may inadvertently harm wildlife or plants. Additionally, tourists may carry with them viruses that pose a threat to local ecosystems and communities if they're not properly disinfected. However, if governments and authorities design and implement a long-term, sustainable, and robust development strategy for this economic sector, these issues can be controlled.

In the end, it's clear that the tourism business is vital to the economy of any country. It also aids in the promotion of additional services and international cultural interactions. Other than the obvious effects on the economy, many people are concerned that this sector could have negative effects on the environment and be a major cause of epidemics. Even so, based on the evidence presented in this essay, I feel that tourism's advantages outweigh its disadvantages.
