People have different opinions about the homework methods that schools assign to students. Some people think that students should be given individual assignments as homework. Others think that homework should be given to a group rather than to individuals because working in a small group is better for them.
Both methods have advantages and disadvantages that will be discussed in the next paragraphs. It is an accepted fact that not all subjects are easy. Some subjects require more effort than others, such as science and math. So, if a student does their homework and spends more time on difficult subjects, their score will increase. In addition, homework helps to develop children’s personal learning and problem-solving abilities. However, homework also has some disadvantages. First, it may place an additional burden on the student's mind, which may affect his health and relationship with his family. Second, children do not have time for games and family.
The first measure to be taken is to reduce the burden. For example, if the teacher divides the class into small groups and assigns homework, it will be very beneficial for students. Each student is given a small task that they can do effectively without any stress. Additionally, children can spend time with friends.
Second, this method will teach students many qualities, such as leadership qualities, adaptability, and many others. Every coin has two sides, so this method has some disadvantages as well as its advantages. Group exercises are only beneficial for students living in the same society or the same region, but are difficult for students living far apart.
In conclusion, homework is certainly necessary and both methods are useful, but
teachers should check every situation before assigning homework to students.
Band 7.5 IELTS Essay
Some people believe that tasks should not be assigned to students while others believe that homework plays an important role in children's education. This essay endorses everyone's second view but still discusses the two opposing views, then draws a logical conclusion.
On the one hand, others think that assigning homework is a waste of time. After schools closed, children get involved in many household chores such as laundry, cleaning, and running errands for their parents. This makes them even more exhausted at the end of the day and prevents them from doing the homework assigned by their teachers. Additionally, tutors are paid to teach children in school and parents are also present to teach and guide them with moral principles at home. Therefore assigning tasks to these children is no longer important.
On the other hand, homework prepares students for independent learning. Young people busy with homework become adept at self-study. It requires them to conduct a series of unaided searches to arrive at the answer. In addition, it also helps students gain more knowledge about the subject that will be taught in class. For example, research shows that students getting tasks from their teachers perform well as compared to their peers who do not have these opportunities.
In summary, after analyzing two different views, I think that homework should be given to students. It helps the students to learn on their own and also enables them to gain knowledge and specialize in the subject.
Band 7 IELTS Essay
Some people believe in the notion that homework is not beneficial; others see improving children's discipline as a matter of survival. Although homework is very popular in schools, learners believe that it helps improve students' achievement and academic life. In my opinion, any useful homework related to school is a suitable way to improve young people's skills and learning abilities.
There is no doubt that reviewing a subject is a method to improve the scores of children in the institution to which they belong. Whatever topic students are working on in school, their teachers provide an unsolved problem or a specific series of pages related to the items they have entered into the student's question bank. As students prepare their homework, they automatically review related topics. Through evaluation, most of the students achieved high scores in all the areas they focused on. To illustrate, I learn much better when I study difficult topics with engaging homework assignments.
On the other hand, some tutors believe that doing homework is educating the young soul. Most teens only have a few hours left after school to relax or spend time with family. If they spend time doing homework, there will be no time left to relax. As a result, they may experience certain psychological disorders and traumas in their daily lives. According to an article, Korean students live in the harshest conditions and have difficulty in their academic life. In addition, a large number of students use antidepressants in daily life.
In short, some people believe that homework should not be given to children. Others view homework as an important way to improve students' academic performance. However, homework is certainly an important requirement in students' educational lives.
