Band 7 IELTS Essay

Cycling has a reputation for being a powerful strategy to enhance physical fitness and reduce the risk of obesity. The practicality of this straightforward mode of transportation, however, is seen by some as unparalleled. Some argue that this is false. Before I give my perspective, I'll discuss both of these points of view.

On the one hand, there is no denying that cycling has many advantages for individuals. Bicycles are the most effective means of transportation for reducing environmental harm and traffic congestion. As many cities are experiencing traffic congestion as a result of the growing use of private cars and other forms of transportation. The primary means of reducing traffic congestion may be bicycles because they are small and take up less space on the road. Aside from that, cycles do not emit harmful emissions into the atmosphere because they do not require gasoline. Therefore, the bike not only lessens traffic congestion but also does not produce much pollution while it is in use. Additionally, because it is a non-motorized means of transportation, the user is not required to obtain a driver's licence. The bicycle requires almost no upkeep, and the rider is free to use it whenever they choose during the day. On the other hand, many people contend that riding makes them uncomfortable. They claim that their physique cannot fit in the little seat. It also demands more physical labour than anticipated because it is a non-motorized vehicle. In addition, inclement weather makes bicycles an unreliable form of transportation. For instance, bicycles lack sheds and are impractical to ride in heavy downpours. They disagree on the idea that biking might hurt. In order to propel and steer the cycle, cyclists must use their lower back. Consequently, cyclists frequently have back pain. Considering the many benefits cycling provides, I get the impression that overall the benefits outweigh the disadvantages for modern individuals.

Band 7.5 IELTS Essay

Various forms of transportation are used by people to get to work around the world. A small number of people believe that bicycles are the ideal form of transportation in the modern world, particularly in cities. While other dissenters argue that bicycles also have some significant limitations that render them incomprehensible in the modern world.

The advantages and disadvantages of the bicycle will be covered in this article, along with my reasons for thinking there are some advantages. The use of a bicycle has two main advantages. First and foremost, it makes no contribution to environmental degradation when in use. Bicycles do not emit harmful emissions of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere because they do not require fuel. The amount of air pollution will eventually decrease as a result. For instance, in Amsterdam, it was found that as more people started using bicycles as their primary mode of transportation, pollution decreased by 20%. Additionally, in crowded city areas, riding a bicycle is the simplest form of transportation. Since bicycles are actually small and take up little space on the road, they make commuting through busy cities easy. Also, prevent traffic from getting backed up. In contrast to the aforementioned, it is impossible to refute that using a bicycle is not practicable for the following reasons. First of all, accidents frequently involve pedal bikes. For instance, there may not be any specific storage facilities for them in some nations. Driving them next to other cars is dangerous because it frequently results in accidents. Secondly, unlike cars, pedal cycles cannot offer a comfortable means of transportation. A person will become fatigued if he rides a bicycle for several hours across the city. Because the bicycle trip cannot provide the comforts of a car, such as air conditioning, plush padding, and entertainment. To sum up, even though some people claim that pedal cycling has disadvantages like unsafe and uncomfortable travel. It actually has more advantages such as being the fastest means of transportation and having less air pollution.

Band 8 IELTS Essay

Due to their affordability, environmental friendliness, and health benefits, bicycles are seen as efficient by many. Others believe they are unreliable and dangerous on different roads since they are not skilled. I will analyse both points of view in this essay and make the case for the first viewpoint as being the more logical one. Bicycle riding has a lot of disadvantages, to be sure.

They are not as comfy as cars or other forms of public transportation, to start with. Rides may be choppy because of their less sophisticated suspensions and smaller tyres. Aside from that, they don't provide car-like amenities like entertainment, luxurious padding, and air conditioning. An individual may become exhausted if they ride a bicycle for a long period of time due to the reasons listed above. Furthermore, there are frequently insufficient bicycle storage facilities and no designated bike lanes in many nations. Driving them while sharing the road with other vehicles is dangerous and frequently leads to accidents. Cycling is a relatively light form of transportation, therefore even if a rider wears a helmet, a collision could be catastrophic. Because the rest of their body is not protected. The advantages of riding a bicycle, however, are significantly greater. A significant contributor to air pollution and global warming is the rise in the use of private automobiles. There are no exhausts on a cycle. As a result, fewer greenhouse gases are released into the atmosphere and air quality improves as more people choose bicycles. Additionally, it benefits those who lead sedentary lifestyles. Due to inadequate exercise, a large number of professionals nowadays begin to exhibit various ailments at a young age. They don't even need to visit a gym or jog; a daily bicycle ride to work provides them with the necessary daily workout. In addition, they are simpler to drive on crowded city streets. Finally, I believe that the disadvantages of riding a bicycle are readily outweighed by the benefits. By constructing designated lanes and bike storage facilities around the cities, the government should encourage people to use them more.
