Band 7.5 IELTS Essay

In the contemporary era, as technology advances daily. Some people believe that having a few quick messaging apps like WhatsApp or Viber on our cellphones improves communication. While others believe that it has simply destroyed the process. This article will go even farther into the subject before coming to a logical conclusion.

To start, it is undeniable that apps like WhatsApp, Viber, and Facebook make communication simpler than it was in the past. This can be seen in a variety of ways, such as the fact that in the late nineteenth century. There wasn't such a thing as a communication medium. Making it difficult for people to communicate with each other when they lived in different cities or towns. As a result, in times of emergency, elderly people had a difficult time transmitting information, whereas in the present, fast-track communication.

An excellent example of this is how, in the past, individuals would send messages via the post office. Which required a lot of time, but is now much faster and simpler thanks to internet services. Additionally, it gives people the option to form a variety of friendships. For instance, thanks to messaging applications, people may now quickly make new acquaintances from other continents and learn new things.

Even worse, since short written communications are so easily misinterpreted, the true meaning may become lost or distorted. However, I believe that the effect instant messaging is having on our writing abilities is the most detrimental. The language abilities of young people are being negatively impacted by the confusing letter. And number combinations that texts use to convey content in order to create grammatically sound phrases.

However, there are a number of flaws in the development of instant message applications that have a detrimental effect on society. To put it another way, it isolates people from one another. This is demonstrated by the fact that people now prioritize chatting on social media over face-to-face interaction, which is bad for society.

Without a doubt, massage applications help humanity, but one of its biggest negatives is that it discourages social interaction.

Band 8.5 IELTS Essay

Many people today think that smartphones make it harder to interact socially. Smartphones can, in my opinion, isolate people, but their creative communication potential outweighs this drawback.

Those who oppose smartphones frequently worry about loneliness. Without phones, it was far more typical for people to interact in person or meet up at huge social gatherings. Because cellphones enable people to communicate and keep linked to their peers in the security of their homes, this still occurs today, but it is less often. Today, it is totally feasible for someone to stay at home and fully avoid face-to-face social interaction. Due to the rise in cases of these shut-ins brought on by cellphones, there are now more sites like YouTube and Netflix that target solitary users.

The way in which people used to convey communications in the past through the post office is a prime illustration of this. This used a significant amount of time but is now done much more quickly and easily thanks to online services. Furthermore, it offers individuals the chance to create a range of friendships. For instance, people may now easily meet new people from various countries and learn new topics owing to messaging apps.

But supporters of smartphones can legitimately highlight their usefulness. Messaging services such Facebook Messenger and WeChat provide daily proof of this. Coworkers, family, former classmates, and diverse groups of friends may easily create group chats. Where they can communicate and share links, gifs, and videos. In the past, instantaneous, endlessly flexible communication was not possible. And the sharing of photos and videos enables people to be more inventive and engage in new types of conversation. Smartphones have increased social interaction's range, accessibility, and convenience rather than destroying it.

In summary, smartphones are not diminishing social relationships; rather, they are generally enhancing them. It is crucial to be aware of both the downsides and the new communication possibilities that technological advancements are bringing up.

Band 9 IELTS Essay

Online messaging apps have grown in popularity since the commercial emergence of the mobile phone and the internet in the late 1990s. I concur with those who believe that they have hindered our interpersonal interactions. Despite the fact that other people think they help us communicate more effectively.

On the one hand, one could contend that the ability to transfer messages immediately between smartphones has improved our ability to communicate in some ways. Those who support online messaging claim that its low price. For most apps enabling messages to be transmitted for free when linked to Wi-Fi, is its main advantage. As a result, individuals are capable of sending a lot more communications now than they could in the past. Additionally, since instant messaging is a silent mode of communication, some claim that it enables people to always be reachable.

While it is difficult to answer a ringing phone in a theater or lecture hall, you can send and receive SMS without disturbing others.

But I think there are more reasons to assume that messaging service has harmed our ability to communicate. One problem is that individuals prefer to write quick texts rather than have in-person talks. However, I would contend that the level of this discussion would be significantly lesser than one held in person. It may be conceivable to conduct a discussion in message form alone. Even worse, brief written messages have a high likelihood of being misinterpreted, which can lead to the real meaning being obscured or altered. However, the effect instant messaging is having on our writing abilities is, in my opinion, its most detrimental feature. Young people's language abilities are being negatively impacted. By the confusing letter-and-number combinations that texts use to convey content, which results in grammatically incorrect phrases.

In conclusion, despite the fact that online communication is an affordable form of communication. It has decreased a generation's capacity for clear communication. Overall, I therefore think that messaging programs. Like WhatsApp and Viber are a barrier to communication rather than a help.
