Band 6 IELTS Essay

Toys are beloved by children. Because of this, many parents buy their kids lots of toys. On the one hand, toys can be a fantastic learning tool for children, but on the other, an excessive love of toys can limit a child's social interaction, which in turn stunts the development of their social skills. The advantages and disadvantages of using a lot of toys on kids will be covered in this essay.

Abundant toys have a number of beneficial effects on a child's mental development. Toys are now used as both an educational tool and a form of entertainment thanks to advances in medical science and technology. So, in order to promote their children's mental development, parents purchase a tonne of toys.

In fact, children were split into two groups for an experiment carried out by a team of American scientists. For two weeks, one group received just one toy, while the other received 100 toys during that time. At the conclusion of the study, it was discovered that kids who had more toys performed better on analytical tasks than their counterparts. Therefore, it is evident that giving children access to more toys promotes their mental development. But every coin has two sides. During their formative years, children should socialize. This fosters the child's ability to express themselves and improve their communication abilities. Children who have access to a lot of toys may become dependent on them.

For kids, this can cause serious issues like less interaction with other kids. As a result, kids may develop social awkwardness. It is therefore abundantly clear that, despite the fact that toys are excellent for a child's development, frequent use can occasionally have a negative impact. I have outlined the advantages and disadvantages of toys' effects on kids using a variety of justifications. On the one hand, it promotes a child's growth, but on the other, overuse can be detrimental.

Puzzles also enhance the ability to think and visualize clearly. The abundance of toys can affect the child also. They can be addicted to their toys. It can create his own imaginary world centred around him and his plays. He loves to share his playing process with his children. This sharing helps them to communicate with their parents. Therefore, it helps them to make a good bond with their parents. On the other hand, the quality of the toy should be considered.
