Some of the indigenous languages are on the edge of extinction. There may be advantages and downsides to the extinction of languages, but in my opinion, the disadvantages outweigh the benefits. Both the advantages and disadvantages will be covered in this essay, which will then reach a conclusion.
Looking first at the benefits, the most obvious benefit is that the absence of the native tongue pushes people to converse using a universal tongue. This extinction not only improves communication but also lessens workplace misunderstandings. Additionally, national and international commercial interactions and negotiations would be more relaxed. Another important benefit is that the disappearance of regional languages fosters peace and unity. Local languages have created geographic divisions among countries, states, and societies. As a result of their elimination, racism based on creed, caste, sex, or colour will be eliminated, which will promote integrity and harmony among people.
Whatever the case, there are some disadvantages to the extinction of regional tongues that should be carefully considered. The most notable drawback is that local languages link locals to international customs and cultures. For instance, local languages are typically used to sing folk music at weddings and funerals. Therefore, the loss of these languages has a negative impact on the communities' cultural heritage. The fact that their extinction can interfere with family ties is another disadvantage worth mentioning. For instance, the older generations frequently talk in these languages whereas newer generations are less interested in them. As a result, it can result in fewer family encounters, weakening the relationship between family members. In addition, elderly people like writing, reading, and viewing movies, music, and books in various languages during their free time. Their lives may become routine and boring if their native languages are lost.
In conclusion, there are both advantages and disadvantages to the extinction of regional languages. However, I believe that the benefits outweigh the drawbacks as it appears to have a negative impact on older folks' cultural heritage and leisure time.

Hence, the loss of a native tongue might ultimately lead to the extinction of a tribe or ethnicity's civilization. Learning foreign languages causes a lot of students and young people to forget their own cultural things. Their cultural history might be missed. Elderly people may also experience sorrow at the loss of their native language. Additionally, even though only a small number of people speak some of the languages, they serve a crucial purpose. Many of the old myths are recorded or written down in the local dialect, and if they disappear, people will remain unaware of the culture.
I believe, in conclusion, that there are many languages in the world. Learning about other languages and one's own dialect is a useful method for gaining broad knowledge.
