Topic: In recent years, many small local shops have closed because customers travel to large shopping centers or malls to do their shipping. Is this a positive or negative development?

Shopping is considered to be an integral part of the daily lives of individuals. Back in the dates, there existed shops that dealt with selling specialized products. For instance, we can take the examples of bookstores that dealt in only selling the books or related supplies, grocery stores that only dealt in grocery items and apparel outlets that had expertise in selling men and women outfits. However, in today’s era we can see shopping malls that are a go-to-place for people. This argumentative essay will highlight my opinion that small shops are better than large shopping centers and thus it is a negative development approach. First and foremost, I would like to put forward the notion that small shops deal in definitive goods and services that are required by individual customers. Thus, this helps in eradicating a number of confusion for customers that helps them choose from a limited number of products. The materials and goods that they offer range from highest to lowest that helps an individual with the scope of choosing from a range of budget-friendly products. The fruits and vegetables sold by local shopkeepers are always fresh and grown using natural processes. Furthermore, one also gets the option to choose from traditional products that are manufactured by the native of that place. To quote an example, I would like to highlight the special snacks or sweets that are utilized by individuals during a particular festival. However, people are attracted to the glamorous decorations and glitz of the shopping malls and prefer to visit those places rather than considering the local shops. There are adverse effects being faced by such local and small shop owners, such as there is an increase in unemployment and people are attempting criminal offenses to earn a living. Thus, to conclude this essay, I would like to mention that shopping malls are a good approach towards modernization. However, this is leading to increased poverty and criminal offenses.

In today’s era global shopping markets are dominating the industry with a huge amount of share and playing a vital role in the growth of the industry. On the other hand, due to this aspect , a number of local shops have closed due to lack of financial backgrounds and competitive nature of the shops. Moreover, there have been a number of financial setbacks that are being faced by these local shops, such as lack of customers. These aspects have made survival of these kinds of businesses a challenge in the modern era. This essay will elaborate further in this particular perspective of mine. In order to begin with the essay, I would like to quote that these multinational corporations have the resources to venture fancy marketing campaigns that attract a huge amount of customer base and is an appropriate approach towards influencing them and sabotaging their minds. Due to these fancy campaigns and approaches, a number of small businesses have gone down due to lack of financial base as there have not been many customer visits in their stores. This has progressively pushed a number of businesses and individuals below the poverty line. Secondly, I would also like to mention the blockage of the business function of these small shops and increased unemployment which is also a major challenge that the government is currently dealing with. In addition to that, this trend has exacerbated the issues related to redistribution of wealth in the favor of limited wealthy businessmen. To summarize with, there is a necessity to preserve small projects and relevant businesses that deal in groceries and local markets. Therefore, to address this, authorities are required to regulate the global markets and devise regulations that will govern the same.

This era is addressed to be the era of digitization as there are repeated advancements in technologies being considered. In addition, repeated and progressive advancements in technologies have led to establishment of several micro-enterprises that have led to closure as buyers are considering transacting from big shopping malls and huge shopping complexes. According to me, it is a positive trend for the betterment of the society. I would further like to shed light on my opinion in the preceding essay. There are a number of advantages of closure of these small shops such as reduction in challenges with respect to traffic management and further improving the quality of air alongside reduction in noise pollution serving a number of advantages to the health of the local public. For instance, in a recent survey World Health Pollution highlighted that one of the key elements that led to the cause of pollution is the rapid increase in traffic congestion in the town. Moreover the cause of this rapid congestion of traffic in the town was addressed due to establishment of local shops on the streets. Thus, closure of local shops has been addressed as one of the vital reasons for the society. Nevertheless, in today’s busy lifestyle, people prefer to invest less amount of time in physical shopping rather they would like to shop online be it groceries or apparels. Furthermore, in these aspects, big shopping malls and complexes have offered relevant advantages to the individuals. To summarize, I would like to highlight that rapid development in the malls and eradication of local stores have served a positive purpose.
