Topic: Some people believe that it is good to share as much information as possible in scientific research, business and the academic world. Others believe that some information is too important or too valuable to be shared freely. Discuss both these views and give your opinion.

Band 7 IELTS Essay

When some believe that information should only be released. When the authorities deem them appropriate for access, many people in this era of "freedom of expression and democracy". Find it extremely unreasonable to restrict information for the sake of nebulous public security and national relevance. Both sides have their views, and I personally think that if all information were made available to them. Scientific research, the academic community, and corporations would all substantially benefit.

Prior to being made public, sensitive material ought to be carefully reviewed. This includes information that could compromise national security. Cause a public uproar, provide terrorists access to technology, or help corporations monopolize certain markets. Information spreads quickly in this digital age, and many believe that in order to preserve world peace, it should be limited. For instance, if nuclear technology is made available to all countries for scientific research. The globe will soon be on the verge of extinction despite the improbable potential that this technology has to benefit the populace.

On the other hand, scientific study heavily relies on the data already available and prior discoveries. Global progress will stall if useful knowledge and earlier findings are not openly shared with academics and researchers. For instance, without the US military's sharing of this technology, we would still be residing in the pre-internet age. Even though the Internet is arguably the most important invention the contemporary world has ever produced. Furthermore, suppressing them is equivalent to killing the possibility for advancement. Because covert information is useless if it is not put into practice in the actual world. Finally, world history reveals that the human race has advanced. Thanks to discoveries and innovations shared with the world as each finding went through substantial alteration and advancement.

In summary, information that is restricted and not shared with brilliant minds has little value. Restrictions on important information should be lifted in order to truly advance humanity, and the public should be informed as opposed to kept in the dark.

Band 8 IELTS Essay

If we take a step back and contrast the past 100 years with the past 1000 years of history without information technology. We can clearly comprehend the significance of sharing information. Knowing when and where to release knowledge is more crucial, in my opinion. So I'll assume the benefits and drawbacks of each particular situation.

In business, academia, and scientific research, the most crucial factors are the most recent discoveries and innovations. The first set of people fervently believes that it is crucial for scientists to share as much information as they can. These are essential to me because I conduct research on education. Since these most recent scientific articles and experiments constitute the foundation of my research papers. As a result, based on factual evidence, I support the expansion of business and intellectual progress. Science would advance and achieve less if people didn't communicate anything at all.

Some individuals believe that certain research-based data is too precious and prime to be distributed freely. On the other hand, it puts you and other people at risk to share some useful knowledge without using a filter or considering the long-term effects. For instance, while the coronavirus was spreading, doctors and researchers advised. That it should boost the immune system, so people started consuming vitamin C and vitamin D supplements. As a result, some people develop stomach ulcers or grow dependent on vitamins, among other health problems. Additionally, certain regions experience a shortage of certain vitamins or a sudden increase in the cost of those vitamins. As a result, elderly folks and hospital patients are lacking these essential treatments. Additionally, this industry's operations are suspended for a while.

In conclusion, everything has at least three sides, as the renowned proverb states. Similar to that, the fact is useful knowledge; it has both benefits and drawbacks. We must therefore provide the appropriate one.

Band 9 IELTS Essay

Sharing knowledge increases its value because it is a valuable resource. While some people believe that scientific, academic, and commercial knowledge should be freely shared. I believe that some information needs to be protected.

It has advantages and disadvantages to freely share information. First of all, knowledge about medical research has the potential to save lives. For instance, thousands of lives were saved by the swine flu vaccine. Thousands of people would have died if the researchers who created this vaccine had kept it to themselves. Information about emerging technology should be disseminated in the same way because it has the potential to enhance people's lives. Consider the example of the internet.

If it had only been available in a few countries, it might not have been such a great hit. Today, billions of individuals all over the world are connected by the internet. It makes it possible for thousands of small business owners to make a living by offering their goods and services to clients throughout the globe. It goes without saying that sharing information has several advantages. Furthermore, Google has a variety of websites that allow for unrestricted information sharing. Which increases students' self-learning, in some social media platforms like Facebook.

On the other hand, I believe that the creator of the information should be compensated for their intelligence. Controlling information sharing could safeguard intellectual property rights and prevent study duplication. Furthermore, the information available from free sources is probably false and damaging.

Some information, however, must remain private since sharing it puts people's lives in jeopardy. For instance, details on a nation's nuclear arsenal or military cannot be disclosed to third parties. The security of the populace of that nation may be compromised if hostile nations obtain access to that information.

To sum up, there are undoubtedly a lot of advantages to sharing helpful information with others. Sensitive information. However, cannot and should not be shared with others when it comes to a nation's and its citizens' safety and security.
