Science tells us about the activities which are Good or Bad for our Health IELTS Writing Task 2 sample answers have been provided in this article. Candidates are required to share their opinion on the causes and solutions of unhealthy activities done by people. Candidates can use examples to support their argument they believe in. Candidates can also enlist the positive and negative aspects of certain activities that they believe are healthy or unhealthy. They can either write in favour of the statement or against the statement. Thus, a brief conclusion is also necessary to be provided in this aspect. Three samples are provided for the students so that they can select from a range of answers. In the body of the answer, the views regarding both sides are explained. The concluding part of the answers leaves the candidate to decide which is more important.

Band 6 IELTS Essay

Nowadays, people are frequently advised of the risks associated with living unhealthy lifestyles. Despite the amazing progress made in medicine, a great number of people are still afflicted with and die from diseases, the majority of which are curable. There are a few causes for the continued prevalence of unhealthy behaviours.

First, the tendency for overconfidence in most people can be used to explain this. People still maintain the belief that they would practically never be harmed despite the fact that there are strong and regular reminders of the negative effects. These are the effects that leading an unhealthy lifestyle can have available everywhere. Even people who are aware are often in denial and trick themselves into thinking that unhealthy behaviours are not as bad as the media would have them believe. Second, it is exceedingly challenging for people to change bad behaviours once they become addicted to them. For instance, smokers are unable to diminish their dependence on cigarettes. Because of their high level of addiction. And people who lead sedentary lifestyles find it difficult to motivate themselves to become more active for the simple reason that working out is not enjoyable. There are several potential solutions to these issues. One of these is charging greater taxes on unhealthy foods like alcohol, cigarettes, and foods with a lot of fat. This solution guarantees immediate effects. Furthermore, it is important to continue to promote healthy lifestyles while also harshly criticising harmful lifestyles in the media. I think people would find it simpler to change their previous self-destructive behaviours. Especially if they had a sense of self-protection and knew that everyone else around them had the same tendency. Thus, it might be concluded that the threat of an unhealthy lifestyle and the cohesion of individuals with it may be recovered with healthy interventions.

Band 6.5 IELTS Essay

Even though experts advocate a healthy lifestyle, there is an upsurge in bad habits nowadays. Several variables contribute to this, and effective solutions should be developed as quickly as possible to address the problem.

On the one hand, there were numerous major motivations for engaging in harmful behaviours. The first reason is that individuals tend to spend more time at work due to the fast pace of life and competition for job possibilities. As a result, individuals are forced to continue bad behaviours such as eating fast food to save time, which increases the risk of obesity and heart disease.

The second reason is that contemporary living, with its technological equipment, causes individuals to become addicted to watching television, playing video games, and surfing the Internet. People, for example, typically choose to stay at home on weekends rather than go out, resulting in a sedentary lifestyle. On the other hand, there is a slew of viable options for dealing with this problem. To begin, funds must be allocated to outside amenities such as gardening and walking routes. Because it can motivate people to exercise regularly and live a healthier lifestyle. Second, by establishing restrictions for working hours, the government might prevent individuals from spending too much time on their employment.

This implies individuals will have more time to look for themselves and eat healthier foods. To summarise, harmful behaviours are becoming increasingly popular for a variety of reasons, and there should be numerous effective treatments available.

Band 7 IELTS Essay

Since the previous decade, science has advanced tremendously. Scientists have classified activities as beneficial or detrimental to one's health. However, millions of individuals continue to engage in harmful behaviours. Furthermore, one of the primary reasons for these harmful behaviours is a lack of understanding of the repercussions of such acts. The remedy to these behaviours, on the other hand, is to provide them with adequate information about the activities' negative consequences.

Some hobbies can be dangerous in a variety of ways. People would not be able to identify the harmful behaviours that are a part of their lifestyle if they did not have a thorough understanding of these activities. People who are unaware of behaviours will continue to engage in them, resulting in deterioration of their health and potential injury later in life. People who are unaware of the negative consequences of consuming unhealthy foods, for example, are more prone to grow fat. Giving children the necessary information and education on good and unhealthy behaviours, on the other hand, would enable them to make better decisions for a better life. Educating children from a young age can help them develop good habits. Youth will be able to live a healthy and disease-free life if they are taught and practise beneficial activities such as waking up early, doing yoga, and eating nutritious foods.
