Band 6 IELTS Letter

Dear Sir/ Mam,

Firstly I would like to welcome you to our neighborhood. I hope you are adjusting well to the environment and the locality around you. We haven’t got a chance yet to formally meet but I am your neighbor and I live next to your block. If you ever need help with something me and my family will love to assist you anytime. Today, I am writing this letter to let you know about some general management of the locality. Here in our neighborhood, we collect the rubbish bins from the local council.

Each house has its own bin which has to be taken care of. Yesterday when I was in my room I saw you taking my bin in your garden. I am sure that there must be some sort of misunderstanding by you and I can understand that you are unaware of the rules. Each door leaves their respective bins outside in the gardens for collection and you must have assumed that it was yours, but that is not the case. However even if I try to manage for a day or two without a bin, it is simply not possible. The waste of the entire house is disposed off in the same bin and already since yesterday and today I was not able to dump the garbage bags, a lot is stored in our house. Thereby I request you to kindly visit the local council for your own bin or if your bin is missing, I would suggest you to call the local council immediately and file a complaint. Not only this you can also demand them to deliver a new bin. This way management will not be disturbed and no longer anyone has to face any kind of issues.I hope being a mature person you can understand my situation also that my intentions are not to harm your feelings it is just to clear the confusion and therefore, we can resolve this conflict as soon as possible this will ensure the peace is maintained between both the families. Apart from this conflict I am sure we'd make great neighbors otherwise and will surely have a great meeting in future.

Wishing you a great day ahead.

Your new neighbour,
Tom Keller.

Band 6.5 IELTS Letter

Dear Sir/Ma’am

Firstly, I welcome you to our neighbourhood and I hope that you have a wonderful time living here. I live in the house beside yours in the same locality. I am writing this letter to mainly inform you about the rubbish bin that is assigned by the local council to each of the houses. Anybody who is new to the neighbourhood can apply to the local council for a new rubbish bin which is to be set up in the garden area. Just today morning I saw you taking the rubbish bin into your garden area.

I guess there must be some misunderstanding as well as your lack of knowledge regarding the personal rubbish bin for all. Considering that you moved in just two days back I guess the latter has happened where you may not be aware of the situation. This is certainly creating problems for us because of the lack of the garbage bin. Accordingly, as the garbage bags are covering half of the kitchen space, bad odor is spread all over the house and according to the rules I cannot leave those bags in the garden as it considered to be a chargeable offense, this is just to ensure that cleanliness is maintained in the locality. Being an active citizen you must have known about the diseases which are being spread from domesticated garbage and its effect on personal hygiene. If not disposed of timely, it can turn out to be a home for mosquitoes and ants and in this changing weather, the risk of getting infected tends to be higher so I am a bit worried for my family. By informing you about the same, I further request you to return the bin within the next 24 hours as I have a garbage bag packed in my home to be taken out. I need the bin as soon as possible. I hope we will be able to resolve the issue without much hustle. However, in case I do not hear any response from your end I would be obliged to take the matter to the local council. Hence, I shall request you to send over the bin within the next 24 hours.

Regards
Ms. Sharma,

Band 7 IELTS Essay

Dear Sir/Ma’am

I saw you come into the neighbourhood and move to the house just opposite of mine yesterday. I firstly welcome you to our neighbourhood and I hope that you have a wonderful time living here. I am Ms Rawat living beside your house and I am writing this letter to inform you about the concern for a rubbish bin. Rubbish bin is assigned by the city council to all the people living in a neighbourhood and each family or house gets one rubbish bin.

Since you arrived just yesterday, I suppose you were unaware of the same and I would like to inform you that you may apply for a rubbish bin as well. Everyone keeps their bin in their garden area from where every morning the rubbish bag is collected. However, just today morning I saw you taking my rubbish bin into your garden area.My concern here lies with the fact that I need to take out my rubbish by the day after tomorrow. So this means that within the next 48 hours I would need my rubbish bin back. I further request you to return the bin within the stipulated time. Therefore, I would request you to immediately return my bin as it is being extensively inconvenient for me. You don’t have any obligations to empty the bin, feel free to leave the rubbish as it already contains even if there is any additional garbage bag you can dispose of in it, this is the least I can manage to do for you at present. You can simply leave the rubbish bin in my garden area. Unfortunately, due to any reason if you’re unable to return the bin heavy heartedly I have to however drag the council in between which will not only be a chargeable offence on your part but it will also cause harm to your reputation in the locality. It’s a humble request that kindly return the bin within 24 hours otherwise there will be consequences.

Regards
Ms. Rawat
