Recommend a Family Member IELTS General Writing Task 1

Recommend Family Member IELTS General Writing Task 1 is a letter writing topic. Candidates are required to recommend one of their family members for a job role in an organisation.. It contains three model answers that have three paragraphs namely the introduction, body, and conclusion. The letter must be clear and to the point.

IELTS General Writing Task 1 includes letter writing either in formal, informal, or semi-formal patterns. Candidates need to complete the task within 20 minutes. Students can consider their preparation for the writings section from the IELTS Writing Practice Papers and enhance their writing skills effectively. IELTS writing score is marked based on band scores. The band scores range from 0 to 9.

Topic: Write a letter to the manager of a company which is based in a foreign country to recommend your family member for a suitable job. In your letter,

Introduce yourself and say what you are doing
Describe the role your family member is interested in

Band 8 IELTS Letter

Dear Sir/ Madam,

My sister, Melina Shrivastav, is applying for the post of senior computer engineer with your Canadian-based firm, so I'm contacting you to recommend her. She is a qualified candidate for employment with your business because of her excellent academic standing, past work experience in this area, and kind demeanour.

In one of the Bangalore, India, office locations, I am employed as a software engineer. I have been employed with your business for the previous 8 years. I really enjoy my work at your organisation and I appreciate the friendly, upbeat atmosphere.

My sister is ready to work as a junior computer engineer, and your company's Canada branch just published an advertising discussing a job opening for a senior computer engineer. Given that I work for your organisation, I would want to suggest my sister, who has expressed a strong interest in applying for this role, for the job.

After graduating from the Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi, my sister spent the last three years working for Symphony Technologies as a junior computer engineer. She possesses all the technical know-how and abilities needed to carry out this work role. She is a fluent speaker of Hindi, French, and English.

I am recommending my sister’s name for this job position since I believe she can be a suitable candidate for this job position.
