Band 6.5 IELTS Essay

The creative process is a personal endeavor. Everybody uses various forms of stimulus to keep their minds active. Information from various sources, including books, movies, and television, reaches many eyes every day. As a result, they are all mental activities that call for creative thinking.

On the one hand, books do not require the same level of mental work because they include written ideas connected to various fields of expertise. Non-fiction books don't require much imagination, however reading fiction definitely keeps it active because of how intense the drama is. This kind of writing occasionally contains elementary knowledge that prevents critical thinking. Additionally, some readers require visual aids in order to maintain concentration, grasp the major ideas, and persevere longer. A picture of a machine, a scenery, or a character, for instance, is essential to creating the reader-lecture match. Young people like illustrated lectures since they find it easier to pay attention because of this.

On the other hand, news, documentaries, and motion pictures also drive an active process. Every person's approach to learning is unique; it depends on their lifestyle and free time. For instance, watching an action movie reduces anxiety and creates a variety of fictional and real-world scenarios for the actors. The brain is then hardly functioning. After work, leisure time is also important. TV news and documentaries serve as entertaining and educational breaks. Receiving accurate information might help some people stay informed about what's going on in society and make plans for the future.

Overall, the viewer's ideas and feelings are frequently stimulated in many ways by movies, television, and books. While television shows and movies are shorter sources of creativity, books keep the mind engaged for a longer period of time. I do, however, partially disagree with the assertion because I believe that all options equally contribute to brain activity.

While viewing TV shows and movies does not have the same effect of keeping our brains busy. It is believed that those who read material remain active in analyzing and picturing it. The causes for this effect on our improvement will be discussed in this article. Along with my personal perspective that I entirely concur with this assertion.

First of all, whether reading books or other types of material, one must use their imagination to put the stories or data they are reading into action. Reading novels, for instance, encourages readers to interpret the texts using their imagination, which helps to improve our capacity for imagination. In contrast, watching video content does not necessitate using our imagination because all images are displayed on a screen. For instance, I developed the practice of reading articles every day years ago. Which improved my capacity to analyze a great deal of information by instilling notions in my thinking.

Reading has the amazing benefit of always allowing us to increase our vocabulary. People who read frequently come across new terms, collocations, and explanations that they might utilize to communicate their ideas or whatever else. For instance, because I may utilize a variety of terminology, reading a number of diverse sources greatly aids in my preparation for presentations. In other words, if you develop new terms, it is always easy to convey your views. Despite the advantages of reading, it may be claimed that viewing movies still allows one to use their imagination. Some people might make an effort to predict how a movie will conclude or what the main character will do next. As a result, imagination is not necessarily killed by movies.

In conclusion, I wholeheartedly concur with the topic statement since I think reading is the finest technique to develop creativity and verbal clarity. Additionally, I believe that this activity needs to be performed frequently.

Band 8 IELTS Essay

It is not surprising that reading books causes a person's brain activity to peak, according to studies. Television viewers do not need to conceive any scenes. Thus their brains remain inactive, whereas readers utilize their imagination and maintain brain activity. Because the author of a book uses words to describe circumstances. And readers imagine the full context, this argument concurs with the claim that reading stimulates the mind. Whereas television shows explicitly present what the producers want you to see.

When we read a book, our minds must conjure up images. There is also some preparation involved in reading a book. A book must be chosen, purchased, then read for hours on end by the reader. Reading requires the reader to engage their imagination. Because the author only uses words to describe the settings and people; the reader must create every scene in their minds. According to a recent Colorado University study, for instance, 85% of readers of the same novel are likely to describe the characters in a different way. This demonstrates how important imagination is when reading a book.

On the other hand, viewers of television do not make up scenarios. The characters, settings, and circumstances that appear in movies. And television shows have already been created, which restricts the audience's use of imagination. Simply sitting in front of the television and without giving the situations any thought while watching a movie is all that is necessary. As an example, several people stated that they preferred reading the book "Fifty Shades of Gray". Since the characters and settings in the movie were inferior to those in the book.

In conclusion, it is not difficult to observe that readers actively use their imagination to visualize the situations. And characters presented in the book, in contrast to television viewers who passively watch TV.
