Model Answer 1:

It is an intriguing topic for me as I have attended numerous public events in the past, and enjoyed each of them thoroughly. Today I will be discussing an event that I attended a year ago. The event entailed raising funds for the stray dogs/indies for their proper medical treatment, food requirements, etc.

This fundraiser was very close to my heart as I had earlier lost my pet to canine distemper. I, along with some of my friends, decided to attend a fundraiser for the strays in our town to provide them with timely vaccinations and proper nutrition. The event was to educate people about the various diseases that newborn puppies catch if not vaccinated at a particular schedule. The event was also to make people aware of adopting more strays rather than buying puppies or dogs from a breeder.

The event was held on a holiday so that more people could attend. The organizing committee also had a few dogs and pups there that they had already vaccinated and were being currently fostered.

It is difficult to gather people for such an event, but surprisingly there were hundreds to participate in the event. As I heard initially the organizers had vaccinated 2-3 pups, but due to the lack of funds, they couldn't get the entire litter vaccinated. Thus, they decided to hold a fundraiser so that more people could join in and make an effort.

The organizers had also invited a local NGO that they collaborate with to provide for the strays. The organizers also had invited local veterinary doctors so that puppies could be vaccinated then and there. Not only did the event manage to impart a good amount of knowledge regarding dog diseases, but also got a few of the dogs adopted. I adopted a 2-months old pup. I also donated packets of dry food, dog toys, and a dog bed for the strays.

It was surprising to see so many people participating in the event. Not everyone is a dog-lover, and I had no expectations regarding the turn-out whatsoever. But in the end, the fundraiser was successful and managed to collect approximately 9k-15k. People also donated packets of dry dog food, wet dog food, utensils, dog toys, etc. It was amazing to see people enthusiastically participating and, and I sincerely hope that people perpetually keep empathizing with our furry buddies in the future also.

I am not a very religious person and do not attend many religious events, but I utterly respect my religion, other religions and their traditions. It was around two years back when I was pursuing my master's in the United States. One of my Christian friends invited me to visit her during the Christmas holidays.

I am a Hindu, and I had never really witnessed a Christmas celebration before. Of course, I had listened to the stories as to why Christmas was celebrated but never commemorated it as a religious holiday. Thus, it was a unique and memorable experience for me. Christmas in the United States is a public holiday and entails a plethora of customs. From decorating the Christmas tree to exchanging Christmas cards and baking cookies, Christmas is enjoyed by both Christians and non-Christians.

So I had planned to visit my friends' house on Christmas eve and Christmas day i.e 24th and 25th December. Now, Christmas Eve in the United States is celebrated with the same vigor as Christmas Day. I visited my friend's house on 24th December. It was Christmas Eve.

I was awe-struck by the Christmas decorations as the house was wonderfully lit up by the green, red, and white-colored decorations. Moreover, all the houses were adorned with green, white, red lights, garlands, lanterns, wreaths, and other Christmas-related figures. I immediately reimagined my house being similarly decorated for Diwali.

We then gathered around for some caroling. There were also a bunch of carolers who visited the house. After an hour or two of music and Christmas stories, we sat at the dinner table to enjoy the sumptuous traditional Christmas dishes. It was a feast, as there were various dishes placed on the table like roasted turkey, Christmas ham, mashed potatoes, gingerbread houses, roast beef, pies, candy canes, mixed nuts, eggnog, and hot chocolate.

We then headed towards the fireplace where Christmas stockings were hung, and each family member had their name on it. I, my friend, and her family members also visited the nearby church for the midnight service. Usually, the service is held at midnight or earlier in the day. As it was cold outside, we went back and drank a cup of hot chocolate. It was the coziest holiday that I had ever spent. My friend's family was humble and more than welcoming. Not only did I learn so much about Christmas but also decided to commemorate Christmas with the same zeal every year.

Model Answer 3:

India has a diverse culture, and with that comes a myriad of traditions, festivities, and a love for varied music. With a diverse culture comes different kinds of music like classical, rock, folk, and pop. I have an innate love for music, especially EDM. Being an EDM fan I had attended some small fests like Sula, Storm Festival, etc., But I always wanted to visit the largest EDM festival in the world. Therefore, I planned to visit Tomorrowland four years back. Tomorrowland is one the largest EDM festivals and is held every year in Belgium. The fest was started in 2005 and has over four lac visitors every year.

I attended this music festival in 2018. I had initially witnessed music fests like Sunburn in India and Ultra Miami in Florida. Both the fests offered an intriguing experience. Tomorrowland is usually a three-day event and invites various artists from all over the world to perform at the fest. The best part was that I had planned to attend the event solo. People from all over the world attend Tomorrowland, so I was excited to meet new people and especially experience this journey alone. I had never planned a solo trip, and this was my first time. I can still remember this impeccable experience like it was yesterday. I was amazed by the setup there.

The fests that I had attended earlier obviously had their perks, but this was incomparable. As I reached the destination, I was elated to see a huge banner that had Tomorrowland written on it. As I stepped inside, I could see the different staging areas. Tomorrowland has 12 different stages in different areas, and each stage is designed spectacularly. Some look like theatres. Each stage has a different DJ lined up for the night. Additionally, Tomorrowland preaches to have drug-free fun, therefore, they ask visitors to dump their drugs in huge bins at the entrance. The food that they had catered was good. From pizzas to stir-fry smoothies, there was food for everyone. Being in the VIP section, I got to see some of the famous DJs like Dimitri Vegas, Alesso, etc.

During my visit, I got to meet an Australian Couple and a guy from Ireland. The couple had visited Tomorrowland before, and this was their second time. Overall it was an exhilarating experience, meeting new people, traveling to another part of the world alone, watching the famous DJs play, amply fulfilling my journey. Being an avid EDM listener, I witnessed the greatest music and had an unforgettable trip altogether.
