The pie charts below depict the percentages of persons hired in the public sector in the United Kingdom by age between 2015 and 2020. In general, the percentage of the 21–30 and 41–50 age groups employed rose. Whereas the three remaining categories—under 21, 31–40, and over 50 saw a decline in employment.
The percentage of employees by age in the UK's public sector in 2015 and 2020 is depicted in different data. In 2015, 23% of jobs were held by workers over 50 and those between the ages of 21 and 30. The proportion of workers aged 21 to 30 who were employed increased by 10%, peaking at 33% in 2020. While the proportion of workers over 50 who were hired decreased, going from 23% to 16%.
There was a modest decrease in the percentage of those under 21 in the remaining three age groups, going from 14% to 12%. In contrast to the employment of people aged 41 to 50, which increased substantially by roughly 10% to 28% in 2020.
