Process of Cloning Sheep Embryos IELTS Writing Task 1 is an academic writing task. Band 8 IELTS Answer

The above given diagram depicts the process of cloning a Sheep Embryo through a flowchart. The process is complicated as is evident from the diagram itself. A lot of scientific methodology goes into cloning.

From the first glance at the diagram one can conclude that the process of reaching from Sheep to Embryo is five steps long. Then an additional step of impregnating a Sheep is involved so that the cloned Sheep can be delivered.

In the first step, two female Sheep viz. A & B are chosen. Sheep A contributes a body cell whose DNA strain is taken out in the second step. From Sheep B the Egg Cell is derived whose Nucleus is removed in the third step. For the fourth step, DNA from Sheep A, and the Egg cell (without nucleus) from Sheep B is fused together to form a zygote. This zygote then undergoes cellular multiplication to form an embryo.

The resultant embryo is then placed not the uterus of another female Sheep named C here. After the gestation period is over, Sheep C delivers a lamb which is a clone of Sheep A due to its DNA.

Band 7.5 IELTS Answer

The diagram provided gives the impression of a complicated cloning process that results in cloning of a Sheep. From the diagram we can infer that, cloning is a very technical process involving a lot of jargon.

A cursory perusal of the diagram tells us that the process of Sheep Embryo cloning has five steps apart from artificial impregnation of a sheep.

The process begins with choosing two female Sheep called A & B in the diagram. Sheep A’s Body cell is taken, and Sheep B’s Egg cell is taken. From the Body cell, they extract the DNA and from the Egg cell they remove the nucleus. So, now we have a DNA strain and an Egg cell without nucleus which are then fused together to form another cell which multiplies to become an embryo. This embryo is placed into the uterus of Sheep C which will deliver a lamb after the gestation period is over. This lamb will be the clone of Sheep A.

Band 7 IELTS Answer

The given diagram depicts the process of cloning a Sheep Embryo. The process involved looks complicated due to the involvement of technical methods and terms.

Overall, the picture shown above contains five steps that are required to clone an embryo of a sheep. The process begins with taking two female Sheep which are named A & B in the picture. From Sheep A, body cell is taken and from Sheep B, Egg cell is taken. In the two next steps, DNA is extracted from the Body Cell of Sheep A and Nucleus is removed from the Egg cell of Sheep B. In the second last step, DNA from Sheep A is fused with the Egg Cell of Sheep B whose nucleus was removed.

For the final step, this fused cell will undergo self-multiplication like any other egg cell and turn into an embryo. The embryo is then placed into the uterus of a different female Sheep called C here. When the gestation period is over Sheep C will deliver a lamb which is a successful clone of Sheep A.
