However, it is clear that Germany is the country which has the highest increase in the population percentage for the age group 65 and above. Between 1988 to 2000, the change in percentage of population for the UK remained the lowest and for Germany, it was the highest. There has been an increase of approximately 5% for Germany's population in the age group of 65 and above from 1988 to 2000. In the case of Canada, the percentage increase is only 4% in 2000 and the UK remains the lowest with only 0.6% increase in population in 2000. However, taking into consideration the future predictions for the increase in percentage of population for 65 and above, predictions for 2030 have been presented. Accordingly, the UK seems to be predicted to have the highest growth of the aged population with almost 6% increase from 14.89% to 20.35%. Similarly, even for Canada, the increase in the aged population of 65 and above stands at 6% increase from 20.67% in 2000 to 26. 35% in 2030. Germany seems to be faced with a decrease in aged population compared to 2000 with 30.42% implying a rise of only 5%.

It also provides information regarding how much it is expected to increase even further till the year 2030. Notably, of the three countries Germany has the highest proportion of seniors during the given period. It can be noted that in Germany, the percentage of aged population in 1988 is 20.45, and 25.32 in 2000. Subsequently, it climbed up steadily to increase by 5% in 2000. Furthermore, this number is predicted to go up to 30.42% in 2030. This implies a sharp growth by another 5% compared to others which remains lower. As the table shows, the percentage of people aged 65 and above in Canada was 16.32% in 1988. This figure increased significantly to 20.67% in 2000. However, in 2030, this percentage of population is predicted to rise to 26.35%. Meanwhile, the percentage of people 65 and above in the UK rose slightly from 14.23% in 1988 to 14.89% in 2000. This is the lowest increase in the population of aged amongst the three countries and over a period of 12 years. However, this figure is predicted to rise to 20.35% in 2030.

By 2030, it is predicted that as much as 30.42% of the Germans will be 65 or above. It may be seen that the UK has the lowest number of population in the age bracket of 65 and above in 1988 and has increased by minute proportion in 2000. However, by 2030, the percentage of the 65 and above population in the UK is expected to increase to 20.35%.
