Band 6.5 Answer

The diagrams show how the Southwest airport appears right now as well as how it will seem a year from now when the renovations are finished. After the expansion work, the Southwest airport will be significantly larger and provide much more amenities and improved accessibility for travellers. The airport presently features a single arrival and departure section, as the illustration depicts.

There is a cafe in the departure section, which is on the left side of the building, however there are none in the arrival area. Customs and passport control could be seen directly in front of the arrival area. Passengers leaving are also directed to where passport control and security are located. Eight gates, two walkways, and check-in are presently present at the airport. After the construction is finished, which is anticipated to be early next year, the airport will have 18 gates and an internal sky train. There will be new stores constructed, and there will be places for passengers to drop off their bags. It will be erected where the check-in desk now resides. The check-in desk will be located across from it. In order to accommodate more passengers at once, the refurbished airport will include extra entry and exit points. Additionally, there will be cafes and ATMs for customers in the arrival area. The right side of the arrival hall would also have a car rental facility.

Band 7 Answer

The Southwest Airport's current appearance as well as its projected appearance one year from now are shown on the accompanying blueprints. The airport will be renovated, extended, and enlarged to provide more gates, and entry and exit terminals. And also to incorporate new amenities for both arriving and departing travellers.

Eight gates and two entry and exit points are now present at the airport, as indicated by the maps. To travel to their designated boarding gate regions, the passengers use a moving walkway. A larger concourse space with eighteen gates will be available at the airport following renovations, allowing it to accommodate more passengers at once. In addition, a sky train will take the place of the walkway to allow for speedier passenger mobility. The space for departure is on the left, while the region for arrival is on the right. When leaving, look directly ahead to see passport control and security. In locations that people would reach before passing through passport control and security, stores will be constructed. The check-in desks will be moved to allow more space for the new bag-drop area, which will also have its own bag-drop facility in the departure hall. Additionally, the café will be located closer to the area where passengers go through passport control. And the arrival hall, which now has no amenities, will contain a cafe, ATMs, and vehicle rental services.

Band 7.5 Answer

The presented layouts serve as an example of the changes an airport may experience in the upcoming year. The airport's location will have undergone a significant alteration by the following year, it is clear from the overall picture. A number of gates will be added to the airport's northernmost section, which will be the most noticeable modification.

There is a cylindrical shape to the airport's current design. The northern walkway, which is located in a square-shaped chamber, is surrounded by eight gates. Passport control and security are placed in the departure area. There is a café available on the right corner, just below the passport control. The check-in area is situated in the western portion of the departure area. The airport's design will have undergone a significant change by the following year. On the airport's northern side, a "Y"-shaped region that would be ringed by 18 gates and have sky trains in the centre is planned for development. It is envisaged that shops would be constructed over passport and security checkpoints. Check-in will move inside the café area, and the current check-in location will get a new addition called bag drop. Passport control and customs will stay in their current locations at the future airport's arrival area. But a brand-new café, ATM, and vehicle rental will be added to the area on the right side of the arrival area.
