Band 7 IELTS Answer
The above table shows the proportion of students who have attended the school at home over a period of five years starting from the year 1999. It is clearly visible that the percentage of the students taking education at home has increased except for the grade 1-4 in 2000.
Starting from kindergarten, the proportion of the homeschooled students has gradually increased till 2004 and this percentage is highest in the case of kindergarten students. The proportion of the homeschooled students in the grade 1-2 and grade 5-6 is least. For both the grades, this percentage decreased initially in the year 2000 and 2001 as compared to year 1999 but later on increased till the year 2004.
The most interesting information observed in this table is that the proportion of homeschooled kindergarten students rose steadily between the years 1999 and 2004. The proportion of the homeschooled students in other grades showed some fluctuations between the years 1999 and 2004. Their proportion decreased or remained constant in the initial years and increased later on.
The conclusion of the above table is that the percentage of the homeschooled students of kindergarten is maximum when compared to the students of other grades.
Band 7.5 IELTS Answer
The above given table compares the proportion of the homeschooled students of the different grades between the years 1999 and 2004. The overall percentage of these students slowly increased over the entire time period.
After analyzing the data, we observed that 2.4% of the kindergarten students were taking education at home in 1999 and this value rapidly increased to approximately 3% in 2004. For the grade 3-4, it was observed that 1.6% of students were taking education at home and this proportion rose steadily to 2.2% at the end of the year 2004. The other three grades show different variations in the percentage of the homeschooled students between the years 1999 and 2004. This percentage was decreased or constant initially and rose steadily in the later years.
So, it is concluded that the percentage of the homeschooled students of the kindergarten has increased rapidly between the years 1999 and 2004. There was no downfall in this percentage in case of kindergarten students as compared to the data of other grades.
Band 8 IELTS Answer
The table drawn above shows the percentage of the students of different grades who took education at home between the years 1999 and 2004. It can be clearly seen that the idea of homeschooling gained popularity later on and the highest percentage of the homeschooling students is observed among the kindergarten children.
Comparing the percentage of students in kindergarten and grade 3-4, we noticed that 2.4% students of kindergarten and 1.6% students of grade 3-4 are taking education at home in 1999. This percentage increased rapidly to 3% in case of kindergarten and 2.2% in case of grade 3-4 students in the later years. Now looking at the grade 1-2 and grade 5-6, 1.5% students were taking education at home and this percentage was initially decreased or remained constant and later on increased to 2.1 % for grade 1-2 and 2.6 for grade 5-6 in 2004.
So, it is observed that the highest proportion of homeschooled students in 2004 was in kindergarten (2.9%) and the least in grade 1-2 (2.1%). However, the data between the years 1999 and 2004 fluctuates differently for each grade which also needs to be analyzed properly.
