Percentage of Water used for Different Purposes in Six Areas of the World IELTS Writing Task 1

Whereas countries in North America and Europe used more water for their industrial purposes. First off, it was clear that the agricultural sector accounted for a significant share of water use. And that African and Asian countries saw higher levels of water use than American and European regions did. In comparison to Europe and North America, where this percentage was barely 32% and 39%, respectively. More than 80% of the water in these regions was used for agricultural crops. In comparison to Asian and African nations, North America and Europe's industrial sectors required more water. While North America and Europe used half of the world's freshwater for industrial purposes. Just 5% to 12% of the world's freshwater was used industrially in Africa and Asia. It's interesting to note the variation in water consumption between North and South America. Finally, it was possible to see higher percentages of household water usage in the American and European continents than in the Asian and African regions.

The statistics show that, except for North America and Europe, where industrial sectors use the most water. Regions, where agriculture uses the most water, are those where agriculture uses the most water. Africa and SouthEast Asia utilise water at rates of 84% and 81%, behind Central Asia's agricultural sector, which uses water at an average of 88%. Additionally, the majority of the water is used for agriculture in South America. With 39% and 32%, respectively, the second highest component is the requirement for water for agricultural reasons in North America and Europe. Contrarily, North American and European companies use a significant amount of water, while firms in Africa and Central Asia utilise the least amount of water. South America and South East Asia both need about the same quantity of water for their industrial processes. Water use for home purposes is the same in South and Central Asia, at 7%. Similar to this, water consumption in North America and Europe is about the same, whereas in Africa, household water usage is just about 10%.

While in Europe and North America, around half of the water is used by industries. The pie charts that are provided clearly show how similarly North America and Europe consume water. On each of these continents, industrial uses of water account for nearly half of the total amount needed. While agricultural uses account for almost a third and domestic uses of water account for 13 to 15%. South America consumes water in a way that contrasts sharply with North America and is more in line with the continents of Asia and Africa. In Asian, African, and North American countries, the agriculture sector uses a significant amount of water. More than 80% of overall consumption in some regions. The region of Central Asia (88%) has the largest water use per unit of agricultural output, which is about three times higher than that of Europe. Using 19% more water than other regions of the world, households in South America use more water than other regions. In Asia and Africa, individuals use only 7 to 9 percent of the water for domestic purposes. Last but not least, industrial water use in Asia and Africa is between 5% and 12%, which is significantly less than it is in Europe and North America. It's interesting to note that South East Asia utilises more water for manufacturing than either Africa, central Asia, or South America combined.
