The table above demonstrates the percentage of people who rode a bicycle in the year 2011. This is from the age of zero to 60+. It covers a huge genre of the population.

The first striking factor that can be noticed from the table is that female cyclists are more than male cyclists in every age group. The lowest percentage of the population that rode bicycles is from the age group 18-39. This is noticed for both the male and female genders.
Now, if we deep dive, we can see that the proportion of female cyclists was 51.3%, while it was 50.3% for the male cyclists for 0-9 age group. The same trend continued and the proportion remained high among 10-17-year-old females. It comes to about 42%. The percentage of males gradually declined by over half to less than 25% in this age group.
The percentages for both genders aged 18-39 were significantly lower. Females and males stood at just 17.1% and 9.7%, respectively. These figures did not remain constant. They slowly dropped for females and males aged between 40-59. The percentages were merely 12.3% and 8% for females and males respectively.
At last, moving to the oldest age group, which is over 60+. The percentage of cyclists from both genders increases. It became 18.5 % for females and 13.2% for male cyclists.

The most striking part of the table is that in all the age groups, more females rode bicycles were more than males. The highest percentage of people who rode bicycles is in the age group 0-9 and the lowest in the age group of 40-59.
The table provides clear numbers for us. The percentage of females and males who rode bicycles in the age group 0-9 are 51.3 and 50.3 respectively. This is the highest percentage in the whole table. The next age group is 10-17. In this age group also, the female leads with 42.2 percent. The male group drastically falls to 24.6 percent. This number keeps on decreasing. In the 18-39 age group, the ratio of females to males is 17.1 to 9.7. In the next age group which is 40-59, the number again decreases. The female percentage is 12.3 whereas the male percentage is 8.0. We can see the decline till this point. From the 60+ age, the number increases slightly. The percentage of females who rode bicycles became 18.5. The percentage of males becomes 13.2.
