Band 7 IELTS Answer

The table shows the percentage of jobless people in 9 countries. They are Ireland, Poland, Italy, Canada, The UK, Germany, The USA, Australia, and Japan. The time frame is 10 years from 1994 to 2004.

From the table, we can see that in 1994, Ireland ranked first in the unemployment rate with 14. 8%. However, we can see a massive change after 10 years. The rate has decreased to only 4. 4% and has become the country with the lowest unemployment rate. On the other hand, we see that Poland shows just the opposite changes. Poland had 12.4% of people who were unemployed. In 2004, we saw a massive rise to 19% of the unemployed people. Some countries have slightly decreased rates such as Italy, Canada, and The USA. The rates decreased from 11.8% to 8.4%, 10.6% to 7.7%, and 7.2% to 5.4% respectively. In addition, the UK declined sharply from 9.5% to only 4.7% in 2004.

We can also see some countries whose unemployment rate increased. Countries such as Germany increased from 7% to 9. 4%, Australia increased from 5% to 5%. 4%, Japan increased from 2%. 7% to 4. 7%.

Band 8 IELTS Answer

The table shows some interesting facts about the unemployment rates in the labor force for nine countries. They are Ireland, Poland, Italy, Canada, The UK, Germany, The USA, Australia, and Japan. This unemployment rate is considered for a time frame of 10 years starting from 1994 to 2004.

If we look at the table, we see that Ireland had the highest unemployment rate in 1994, standing at 14.8%. The second highest was Poland at 12.4%, third highest Italy at 11.8% and fourth was Canada at 10.6%. Rest of the countries stood below 10%. UK, Germany, The USA, Australia, and Japan stood at 9.5%, 7%, 7.2%, 5% and 2.7% respectively. This data changes when we shift to 2004. In 2004, Ireland dropped the unemployment rate over 10% to 4.4%. This is the highest drop noticed in the table. On the other hand, Poland increased its unemployment rate and stands at 19% in 2004. All the countries except Poland decreased in unemployment rates. Taly, Canada and Germany stood at 8.4, 7.7, and 9.4 percentages respectively. The UK, USA, Japan and Australia were the lowest. They stood at 4.7%, 5.4%, 4.7%, and 5.4% respectively.
