Nowadays Many People Want to Buy Famous Brands of Clothes, Cars and Other Items IELTS Writing Task 2

The more famous or more expensive the brand you purchase your clothes from, the more wealthy and fashionable you appear to be. I believe the choice to buy branded clothes, cars, and other items should depend on the person. Buying clothes that are not very expensive or belong to brands is not wrong. Everyone should be wearing good quality clothes. However, it is also absolutely not true that only famous brands manufacture long-lasting and comfortable clothes. There are many cheap or affordable clothes that provide comfort and are long-lasting. Buying branded clothes comes with its own pros and cons.

It is true that buying clothes from famous brands provides customers with a more trendy and fashionable option. They also come with better quality designs for heavy workout clothes or undergarments. Moreover, cars are a luxury that only the upper middle class and rich people tend to afford. With famous brands of cars appearing in the market people tend to buy more cars and the disparity between the rich and poor is clearly visible. If someone has money, they can definitely go ahead and buy expensive things. It is well within their right and no one can question them. However, this proves the growing disparity that social development negatively faces considering people’s dependence on famous brands for suiting their needs whether for cars, clothes, or other items. 

I think this is a positive as well as a negative development. It shows that the country’s economy is developing. However, it also does not encourage cheap and upcoming clothing companies. So ultimately I will say that I personally do not buy clothes from only famous brands or only nameless brands. It is more of a combination of both, depending on my needs and the budget that I can afford at the time.

I agree that there are many benefits of buying one's clothes from famous brands, just as there are a few disadvantages as well. First and foremost, the biggest benefit of sticking to a big brand is that they are always supposed to deliver clothes that will last for a long time. In the case of clothes from unknown companies, usually, the clothes are made out of cheap materials, thus one must not expect them to last very long. Most of the fast fashion brands try to make use of extreme machinery and the wastes gathered affect the environment considering they are not reused. A large amount of clothing dumped by people also affects the environment. Furthermore, people inclined towards famous brands of cars can also be considered to be increasingly focused on petrol cars causing environmental pollution. Moreover, the dependence on cars, clothes, and other items like jewelry including diamonds and gold only is a symbol of the high and rich economic class. While many famous brands of cars do provide quality manufacturing processes with the use of electrical and hybrid-based cars, the presence of a large number of petroleum cars only worsens the situation. No matter how comfortable people might find the branded products considering it as a sign of elite and sophistication, the impact on society is negative as the disparity between rich and poor increases as a result. Only the rich people are able to purchase branded products whether it's clothes, cars, or even jewelry or shoes, and the poor ones need to focus on local markets.

Branded clothes can be a great addition to your wardrobe. They are supposed to provide a fashionable yet decent look to the person wearing them. Some high-end brands even provide additional accessory pieces with clothing items to give off a statement look. So, I think that the high-quality materials of branded clothing items give off good durability and comfort, which is essential when it comes to everyday clothing. However, the disadvantages of buying from famous brands also need to be known considering it's important to be known and the impact it has on society. The very basic disadvantage of branded clothing items is that they tend to be a lot more expensive as compared to local clothes. Since branded clothing items are made out of high-quality materials and are usually imported from abroad, they usually end up costing a lot. It is not always possible for every person to spend thousands of bucks on a single pair of denim.

Another disadvantage of shopping from famous brands is that they might not offer a lot of options to choose from. If a person consistently sticks to buying from a particular brand, they may soon develop a dull and boring style that has no scope for a little experiment. The inclination towards famous brands is not just based on clothes but many people tend to focus on cars as well as part of their inclination towards a brand. Luxury cars like Porsche, BMW, etc are owned by richer people who afford these cars and have the ability to purchase them due to their higher economic conditions. There are other branded items like jewelry, shoes, and accessories which people buy in order to enhance their higher status. The social development, however, becomes constrained with the disparity increasing as the rich become richer and the poor poorer.
