People Think that Zoos are Cruel IELTS Writing Task 2 consists of three sample answers provided below. While some people find it cruel for wild animals to be kept in zoos and consider that zoos should be shut down, others consider that zoos are a place where wild animals are usually kept protected from any kind of harm. The essay would discuss both opinions and I would provide my own opinion in the end.

Wild animals in zoos are mostly kept in cages where they are not protected but rather kept captive. Most importantly, these wild animals who are supposed to be taken care of, preserved and protected find themselves in a place where they become an amusement for the common people. Moreover, it is important to consider the fact that the survival skills of these wild animals become weaker because they are provided food, preventing them from hunting for their own food.

On the other hand, most people consider that zoos are helpful for protecting these wild animals from the hunters and poachers in the wild. Moreover, with deforestation being at its peak for more cities to grow, the wild animals are becoming more prone to the lack of natural habitat, endangering them on a high scale. Based on these aspects, people think that wild animals are more protected in zoos.

It is true that keeping wild animals in zoos can be cruel considering that they are held as hostages, with rapid urbanization and deforestation. In my opinion, given the current state of rapid industrial developments, zoos are the best place for the safety of wild animals.

Wild animals can be found in zoos all over the world where people visit as part of their leisure activity. While most people consider that zoos are useful for protecting wild animals, some think that zoos are cruel towards wild animals. In this essay, by discussing both sides, I would evaluate my opinion.

Zoos are a place where animals are kept in cages and people generally visit the zoos during their leisure time or as part of their traveling activity. However, animals kept in zoos are kept hostage and not treated efficiently. Although they are provided with enough food, it merely becomes a business for entertaining people visiting the zoos. Many people also believe that the keepers in the zoo generally treat them in cruel ways, harming the animals because of which it is essential to shut them down.

However, there are people who argue that zoos are useful and important for wild animals. People consider that the wild animals in zoos are not meant for entertainment but for the purpose of keeping them protected from the cruel poachers in the jungles. Moreover, people believe that with human activities taking place in effectively rapid ways, zoos are essential for the wild animals as an alternative to natural habitats and preventing them from poaching.

The concern of people stating that zoos are useful for the wild animals for preventing them from being hunted by poachers is an important issue. However, I believe that keeping animals open in the wild and preventing poaching at effective levels is important.

A zoo is a place meant for wild animals to be housed within an enclosure, displayed for the public and even meant for conservation purposes. However, some people think that zoos are cruel to animals and need to be shut down and some people consider them to be useful. Discussing both sides in the essay, I would present my opinion.

Some people think that wild animals need to be kept within their natural habitat and zoos are rather cruel for them. People believe that animals kept for public display are a way of doing business. Zoos are considered by people to be cruel for the animals who, in the name of enclosures, are kept hostage and ill-treated by the zookeepers. Moreover, people think that zoos need to be closed down to better protect the animals.

On the other hand, some people view zoos as an effective place for conserving animals. They believe that protection of wild animals is increasingly possible by the keepers in the zoo who constantly keep these animals under their protection providing them food and shelter similar to natural habitat. Considerably, the endangered species in the wild are best kept safe and protected within the purview of the zoos. This increasingly ensures that the animals are free from poachers and hunters in the jungle.

While some people consider zoos to be cruel for wild animals, some people think them to be useful. In my opinion, zoos are cruel for the wild animals who are meant to be roaming freely in the wild but are kept enclosed.
