People now-a-days are buying different things like clothes, shoes, accessories, homeware, furniture, etc, which makes them use it on different occasions. However, a lot of things that people buy these days may not have much use and are only because of their materialistic desires. While it is acceptable that people might buy different things based on desires. These things that might be of little to no use might have a negative impact on society and individuals. Foremost, the notion of purchasing anything should be based on their use and need of the individual in its life. Whether it's buying furniture which could be used for interior decor of a home or clothes which would be worn more than once, all of them need to be used at the optimum. However, people now-a-days choose to buy a lot of things mainly to show off their wealth and their ability to make the purchase from expensive designer showrooms. Many of these things that people might purchase may have the least or no use in their homes and eventually become a waste product. There are several negative impacts that can be identified from this form of actions that people have begun in their life. This includes foremost, the fact that the gap between the rich and poor is increasing. Because a population group exists that is conscious of its choices and purchases it simply expands the rich and poverty gap in the society. Furthermore, the amount of waste being created by the people as a result of the products that is of no use simply impacts the environment. The effect on nature in terms of creating more landfill waste out of products that is harmful for the environment and eventually resulting in affecting climate change. Moreover, an individual becomes quite addicted to this kind of shopping spree where it is unaware of its unconscious choices polluting the socio-environmental conditions. Hence, the negative effect can be identified.

However, people typically have the habit of showing off their wealth and their ability to make the purchase from expensive designer showrooms. Many of these products that are being purchased by people lack any precision for quality and only for the brand name. The impact of it is highly negative and it can be identified from this that people’s actions have become their lifestyle affecting the mindset of the people.
