People Should Not Continue To Work Once They Reach The Age Of Retirement IELTS Writing Task 2 consists of three sample answers provided below. The task requires the candidates to provide a tentative and argumentative answer for the question. The sample answers comprises two parts: Introduction and body. The introduction is a brief description about the topic. The body contains argumentative statements and tentative answers to support the test-taker's perspective. Topic: Some believe that people should not continue to work once they reach the age of retirement. Do you agree or disagree? Give reasons for your answer and include relevant examples from your experience.

Most commonly we can differentiate people into two categories, working-class & business class. Age of retirement is subject to working-class people only. So I do agree that working-class people should not continue to work once they reach the age of retirement. But during their service period, they need to live a perfectly planned lifestyle which eventually helps them for a peaceful life after the age of retirement.
Firstly, working-class people are those who have chosen employment as a source of their income. So their monthly income is fixed and grows as experience increases. In this category, people tend to live simple yet happy lives. At the same time, their expenses are compound with limitations. Normally retirement age is believed to be 55 to 60 years. If an individual starts his/her career as an employee in a company at the age of 23. At the time of his retirement age the total service period will be 35 to 37 years. If well-planned investments and savings are done during this service period, the person can stop working. And live an independent life with post-retirement benefits.
Secondly, business class people never do routine work as they are more focused on business goals which keep changing. At the same time business class, people do not have retirement age because many business people are passionate about what they do. So they keep doing it till their last breath. Working-class people are used to particular routine work cycles. So even after retirement, they can not sit idle. So the best option for them is to get involved in service-oriented activities instead of going to work. By doing so, they will be engaged all day with no stress or deadlines to meet.
To conclude, Age of retirement is based on the human lifespan. So working till a specific age is acceptable, but working after the retirement age will be hard. I strongly agree with the phrase that people should not continue to work once they reach the age of retirement. The government also supports senior citizens in many ways by offering special services. After retirement people can offer to teach, become consultants, etc.

The phrase which says people should not work once they reach the age of retirement is debatable. The age of retirement is based on the human lifespan. But only the working-class people are subject to retirement. Whereas the business class people run their businesses till their last breath. So I partially agree that working-class people should not continue to work once they reach the age of retirement.
Firstly, based on an overgrowing population every year we can witness millions of young graduates. Job opportunities for these freshers can only be created when the existing aged people retire and give way for young lads. A study shows that many countries retain senior employees for a longer period which eventually results in unemployment among the youth. Though senior employees certainly have more experience, aging does have many relevant constraints. The energy level among the youngsters is higher when compared to senior working people.
Secondly, People must realize that even though earning money is essential, rendering service or working in a company forever is not a complete life. People when they start their career at a young age must also plan for post-retirement life. Undertaking long-term returns, plan investments, and planned savings. Working-class people are used to particular routine work cycles. So even after retirement, they can not sit idle. So the best option for them is to get involved in service-oriented activities.
To conclude, nobody can dictate rules over any individual. Every person is a world citizen. The people can make their own opinion whether they wish to work after retirement age or not. But, my personal opinion is that people should not continue to work once they reach the age of retirement. But to pass their potential time they can get themselves involved in service-oriented activities like teaching, consultations, traveling, social service, etc.

People in the majority have this mindset that they will work till a specific age and after that, they will retire from working. I do not agree that people should not continue to work once they reach the age of retirement because the phrase itself is hypothetical. The age of retirement is based on the human life span whereas on the factual ground reality human life is uncertain and unpredictable. How can one be so sure to live up to a so-called ‘age of retirement.
Firstly, working-class & business class are two different categories of people. Where the age of retirement is only for the working-class people and not the business class people. This difference is because the business class people take up a working module in which they are passionate about. So they keep doing it till their last breath. But this formula is not for working-class people because they never take risks and are satisfied with what's being paid.
Secondly, People need to inculcate a mindset that they are free to do what they wish for and they are not entitled to serve anybody for a lifetime. It is quite common to say that aged people are weak and less productive when compared to younger age groups. So people say that one must not continue to work once they reach the age of retirement. I believe this is underestimating the power and efficiency of aged people. The older a person is, his/her experience level is very high, and such persons are an asset to the industry. Unless an individual wishes not to work after the age of retirement, every other person must be given opportunities to work.
To conclude, based on previous track records all these retirement age limits are set. But the factual ground reality is different for every single individual. So instead of living and working as per other predictions, an individual must start doing what he/she is passionate about. In this way, they can keep working and living a satisfying life till their last breath. So I am confident in saying, I do not agree that people should not continue to work once they reach the age of retirement.
