Topic: People in many countries are spending less time with their families. What are the reasons and effects of this?

Model Answer 1:

It has been widely acknowledged that people of the recent world are spending less time with their families. This is due to various kinds of reasons and there are also many adverse effects of this on the family members.

There are pieces of evidence that adults become workaholism either voluntarily or self-induced, which makes them feel irritable to spend time with their families, or off-springs. It is increasingly common that the employees are forced to stay back in offices due to the excessive-high work pressure, or they return home late at night when the other members of their families are asleep.

Further, youngsters get too addicted to the tech devices like computers, and mobile tablets. They find more amusement in those devices than in interacting with family members. As a result, they get distanced from their family. They prefer to text their friends over social media, rather than talking verbally to their parents. Parents who are too busy earning money, and spend less time with their children may leave an adverse impact on their children. When the children do not get time from their parents, they switch to gadgets where they get the required entertainment like videos and music. They can even come in contact with some unknown, unwanted people over social media. Due to the conversation gap between parents or other family members, they do not get many of the required moral values and remain immature in many aspects.

Moreover, this communication gap in a family is one of the most undesirable things, as this may lead to conflict among family members, and even divorce between partners. Therefore this must be avoided, and every family should have a routine of spending some family time every day.

Model Answer 2:

As the world is developing, society has made its own way of coping with this new development. It has become more competitive than ever, so in order to keep pace with this development, people in many countries land into spending less time with their families and more time in their workplace.

The students are also under constant pressure from their studies and other co-curricular activities. They love spending their little free time watching TV or social media. The office goers also have immense work pressure and are forced to do overtime. They spend maximum time in their offices and return home, totally exhausting their energies, at late night. This is also a reason for not being able to spend some family time.

Besides, technological advancement has made virtual communication more popular than ever. They can chat, talk and stay in touch with anyone, anywhere in the world at any time with a phone in hand. This is also a reason why people are less interested in spending family time.

It is often seen that young people, who do not spend family time and are too engaged in gadgets, tend to fall into wrong hands. They either get involved in criminal activities or fall into the trap of the wrong person. They may also be affected mentally, like going into depression, or having frequent mood swings and other psychological problems.

It has been proved in a finding that there is a relationship between lack of family interaction and depression. Less family interaction can further create a gap between family and children, which can lead to conflicts and unhappy families. Therefore it is very important to have a family and also to spend some family time every day, which acts not only as a mode of refreshment for all but also strengthens the bond among the family members.

Model Answer 3:

There is no doubt that spending time with family is decreasing due to many reasons. This is also leaving an adverse effect on human life.

The main reasons for the decreasing family time are long work pressure and technology. Youngsters stay busy with their gadgets, either playing games or chatting with friends, in their free time. They are also seen to be cut off from their parents. It is seen that youngsters are present in the family get-together or on family occasions physically but not mentally, that is they are constantly busy with their games or social media. This hampers their physical health, as they get too much indulged in games, they are not conscious about their foods and may result in diseases like headache, obesity, etc. This happens because if they do not get time from their parents, they keep themselves engaged with these gadgets. Nowadays, parents are also very busy in their workplace. In this competitive and inflation era, both parents have to work in order to meet the basic requirements of the families. Therefore, they work more and do not get leisure time for family time. This has adverse effects like conjugal problems, or conflicts with family members, and even can create psychological problems in their children.

Therefore, it is very important to spend time with families, both adults, and children. And this should be taken care of, in order to reduce family conflicts, divorce, and psychological disorders like depression. Every family must be aware of the negative and positive effects of spending time with family.
