People decide to have children later in their life IELTS Writing Task 2 consists of three sample answers provided below. The task requires the candidates to provide a tentative and argumentative answer for the question. The sample answers comprises two parts: Introduction and body. The introduction is a brief description about the topic. The body contains argumentative statements and tentative answers to support the test-taker's perspective.
IELTS writing task 2 evaluates candidates based on the knowledge and views they have expressed. The areas that candidates are assessed on are grammar, vocabulary, and style. IELTS writing score is marked based on band scores. The band scores range from 0 to 9. Since the topics are very diverse, candidates must go through IELTS Writing practice papers to become familiar with a lot of topics.

Topic- Nowadays, more and more people decide to have children later in their life. What are the reasons? Do the advantages of this outweigh disadvantages?

Band 6.5 IELTS Essay

Nowadays many people decide not to have children as soon as they are married. The main reason for this is the Career and expenses of everyday life. Everyone has dreams and desire they want to make it come true in their life. In the earlier days when a couple gets married, after their marriage the husband goes for work and wife stay at home and take care of family members so during those days they were okay with having children and raising them.

But now the women are focusing on making their career before marriage and even after they are married they want to work and focus on making their career until they are ready to raise children. Some couple decides on not having a child until later on because of the responsibilities. They feel like the responsibilities of work and family are big so they don’t want to add any other responsibility until the time they are ready.

The couples even wait until they make their career for marriage because they feel like if they have family they will be filled with responsibilities to be able to focus on their dreams and reach the highest point of their desire. For example, In a career like modeling or in acting line the women think twice before having a child because it will hamper their chance and dreams as with the child they will not be able to focus on their career line due to lots of responsibilities. And when it comes to men in business or when they want to start up a business they feel like they want to take up their business until the point they feel like they have finally done something so they wait until that point to have children. So career influences people for not having children until later on. Sometimes the couple feels like due to lots of workloads they are not yet ready for having a child so they wait as there is no time to take care of the children at that point of their life. And moreover these days there is no urgency on childbirth and it depends on until the husband and wife are ready for it.

To conclude, the tendency to have children at later ages is caused by a number of factors, such as the expenses and responsibilities, and both the positive and negative impacts of it can be seen in families and society.

Band 7 IELTS Essay

In modern society, there has been a major concern that most of the couples have delayed parenthood. Some couple waits until later on to have children because of increasing expenses of everyday life. These days the expenses are rising higher and higher to be able to afford it, so couple feels the needs of first becoming financially secure so that they can fulfill the needs of theirs and their children. We very often see that people who get married at a very early age and have a child very early, later on, find it difficult to feed the children due to financial crisis.

We also come across the couple who gets married and have children at an early age when both of them are unemployed have to depend on the parents for day-to-day expenditure. Their children also get to work from a very early age because of starvation and in need of daily wages.

When the couple thinks of having a child later on first think if they can feed their child and give their child good life or not. The couple first wants to get a job and gets settle instead of being dependent on others so that there will not be any monetary problem when they have the children. With the coming days, the prices of the goods are increasing as well so it is very important to have a secure job first before making a family because one person working in the family is not enough so both husband and wife have to work and earn. The couple thinks of the future of the children so they prefer waiting until they are well settled and fulfill their needs.

In conclusion, stable income and settled life make delayed marriage more happening. The thing is we need to consider the pros and cons of this to decide when should a couple decide for parenthood.

Band 7.5 IELTS Essay

To have a child many years later in their marriage has Pros as well as Cons. The pros of having a child later in life are that the couple will be finally settled and have gained what they want in their so now ready to start a family as they will be no more up & downs to worry about in their professional life and career/work is on the right track. Waiting for a later time can help the child grow healthy as the parents will be financially stable at that point. The husband and wife will be more mentally and emotionally prepared for the decision of having a child.

And better planning can be done when couples take their time for it. The Cons of having children later in life is that sometimes couples wait for too long that their age limit crosses and they become unable to conceive a child. And due to Women going out for work the growth rate of children will become low and fewer children will be there as women will be more focused on working.

These days people get married at the age of 30 and above and even after that they wait for some years as they are not ready yet for the child so that’s how the age for conceiving reaches its limitation and as we know that after age 35 fertility declines quickly and risk for miscarriage and difficulty in conceiving rises. The more you gown older the more health issues start taking over. And the biggest con is that even after waiting for correct to have a child when they have children of their own eve after waiting for a later time the parents still get busy with their work to take care of the child so having a child early after marriage or later on turns out to be same.

But in the end, to have children how fast or how late all depends on husband and wife. The Couple needs to be mentally prepared to have children and need to know if they are ready to have children or not. Because how first they have a child or how late they have a child does not matter if they are not ready for that responsibility but if they are ready even to have a child right after their marriage will be a blessing for them.
