Band 8 IELTS Essay

Many developing countries offer better job opportunities. This is the reason individuals are nowadays moving abroad for work purposes in foreign places. This comes with obvious advantages but a few disadvantages too. In this essay, we will discuss the pros and cons of moving abroad for work.

The few things that every human wants best for themselves are health, wealth, education, and food. In search of this, they move abroad. The job opportunities are more and the salary they receive is also much more. This helps them to meet their requirements. Not only that, the facilities and the healthcare system provided are much more advanced and better. Migrants working outside of their home countries earn more when the currency is converted to their home country’s currency. This often gets more value and makes them rich. Also, the health care system is either cheap or funded by the government in foreign countries. This can help the migrants keep a check on their health without losing any wealth. In addition to this, developing or under-developed countries can’t offer as much education. This in turn leads to a lack of stability in one’s job. However, in developed countries, these things are considered a priority and taken care of pretty well. Countries like Germany even offer free education which makes living there even more feasible. In certain middle-east countries, there is no income tax. On the other hand, in countries like the U.S.A or U.K, there are tons of job opportunities. There are more advantages like these when one moves to a foreign country.

These can only work well when a person is moving to a country with a better economy than his home country. This happens when people look for luxary after completing their basic needs. Moving abroad has a few disadvantages also. The culture and the language barrier is the most crucial one. I still believe that if someone stays for long enough, they can adapt to the culture. hence, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

Band 6.5 IELTS Essay

Moving to a foreign place has now turned into a very usual thing for people. A visa, a passport, and a job that's all it takes to move according to people.

But they don’t think about the other side to the pleasing side of this wonder. Moving to a foreign place, as delightful as it seems, can have many downsides to it. It can bring loneliness and depression. Two of the main things that can affect a person’s mental health to the extent of one’s physical disability and it can be really hard to get over it. These are often internal and can’t even get detected by a person hence, they can affect the physical work of someone without them even knowing it. Another thing is that people are often so excited to move to a foreign place that they forget to plan the expenses of the place that they’re about to move to. The income seems to be very big until they look at the cost of expenditure. Places that provide good income are also very expensive and people forget to take care of that. If one gets all their money spent on rent then what will they have for food or their other basic needs? Also, there are times when the degree that a person has pursued throughout their education period in their native country is not enough for the qualification of jobs in foreign places and they have to settle for less. Or, there are times when a person has to study even more for their jobs (such as in the case of medicine) and that leads them to drown in debt. The lure of luxury often makes people settle for lower standards of living in foreign places because it appears to be pleasing on the outside. In conclusion, if one moves to a place foreign to them, they should consider well planning and research about that place and should consult with people living there in order to manage and plan their income and expenditure.

Band 7 IELTS Essay

Foreign places are luring, filled with luxury to the unknown, these places seem to attract many outsiders. There are both perks and downsides to these places.

Below are the points mentioned regarding both the advantages and disadvantages of these places. Most people are lured by the job offers, education system, and health care system of these countries. There are many jobs that offer good amounts to people and are lucrative. The lifestyle through the education system is settled and hence, can be very luring to people willing to set up their families there. Developed countries offer a variety of educational and working fields which make people feel attracted to them. It helps them identify their inner potential and makes them work for it. Tourism and exploration of new places are also very pleasing to people who have been strangers to them. The grass may not be greener on the other side and so, to these advantages, there are certain disadvantages as well. Some even work outside only to convert the money into the currency of their homeland and become rich, but they don’t look at the fact many times, that the income-earning capacity to the expenditure is similar to their native lands. Big numbers can definitely blind the sense of thinking and planning of a person. The health care facility might be good at foreign places but if there’s no money left to pay for it then what will be the benefit of these facilities? Many people have to face racism and discrimination because of belonging to a different place or culture. There can be hatred that they have to face and it can make them feel low at times. Sometimes, the education qualification of a person is not enough and they have to get further education which can cause them to drown in debts. Although there are tons of merits and demerits to these places, it depends on the people and their mindsets whether moving to a foreign place would suit them or not.
