The fact that you can get all your questions answered from the comfort of your home with just a few clicks and from 5 different sources is a great blessing for today's generation. Although it is unlikely that you will have all encyclopedic medical textbooks at home, the same books, including personal experiences, advice, etc., are easy to find online and can be found in abundance. This growing trend towards self-diagnosis does not surprise me in the slightest. Although most of these diagnostic websites are officially monitored, created, and maintained by medical authorities, there are still a large number of fake and well-intentioned but inadequate sources of advice. The general advice is that if the disease is serious, you should consult a doctor before or after checking your problem on the Internet.

However, if your illness is seasonal or can be treated at home, such as a cold, fever, headache, cough, or mild allergies, it's okay to rely solely on online help.

Another reason for today's aid decisions is the relative isolation in which we generally find ourselves. We no longer live in tightly knit social structures, but rather in loose, distant, and independent networks. This trend is seen as a positive alternative to the advice of relatives, friends, and neighbors, even when it is better to receive the care of a nurse and treat yourself, regardless of cost or expense reasons. I don't want to give up my official duties. An added benefit is that you can order your medication online by calling even if your local pharmacy doesn't have it in stock. The only possible downside to this phenomenon would be relying on amateur advice and not verifying the same with official sources, but there is a risk of being scammed in the real world, and at least online there is a risk of getting scammed. You would be responsible for not checking. So, in conclusion, considering how society and its expectations are changing and how online diagnostics not only save money, time, and energy but also save us. The consensus seems to be that this is a positive development. Feedback and personal experiences from people who are going through the same thing as us.

Nowadays, an escalating number of individuals turns to the internet for medical advice; they eschew traditional hospitals or clinics. This trend, I firmly believe, thrives under the influence of two driving factors; indeed, it represents a negative development. Firstly, the main reason for the increasing reliance on online consultations is convenience.

The proliferation of smartphones, tablets, and computers equips individuals with universal access to health advice: they can seek it out anytime--regardless of location.

Often, busy individuals find it more convenient to search for information online than to schedule an appointment and drive to the hospital; this is particularly true in our digital age. Moreover, individuals may choose online medical consultations; this option guarantees privacy and confidentiality. This feature empowers you to seek counsel on sensitive health topics while keeping your identity and personal information concealed from the doctor. This is especially important for stigmatized topics such as mental health and sexual health. In my perspective, this emerging trend invokes concern: the Internet—despite its vast accessibility and convenience—fails to consider a crucial factor; it cannot account for the patient's implicit health status.

Relying on online sources for direct medical diagnosis can foster an exaggerated belief in individuals that their health issues are indeed more grave than reality suggests. A Google search for "reasons for headaches or migraines" might return results that suggest grave illnesses like brain tumors or aneurysms, thereby inducing unwarranted anxiety. Because the Internet search mechanism cannot consider other contributing factors to the symptoms, this limitation arises. Patients who search for "reasons for headaches" may actually suffer from an underlying health condition, such as dehydration. To summarize, an increasing number of individuals in our contemporary society opt for online medical services instead of traditional doctor visits; they do so primarily out of convenience and a desire for privacy.

Since the rapid development of technology, a lot of information has become available on the Internet. As a result, many people seek out their symptoms and medications without seeing a doctor. I strongly believe that this is false progress for several reasons listed below. Firstly, in some countries it costs a lot of money to visit a specialist, so people try to find other ways to threaten themselves.

This situation is especially common in places where prices are high and wages are low. Google and other web systems can display a lot of information about diseases and their threats to people. For example, in 2019, free platforms that help people understand what kind of illness they have and what medicine they should receive became popular on the internet. Therefore, the Internet is useful, especially when it comes to providing individuals with the knowledge they need. Another important point is that while the Internet contains a variety of sources of potentially correct information, most websites contain incorrect information. Looking for medicine for a disease and taking the wrong medicine can lead to serious health problems and end up in the hospital. Physicians study throughout life to define diseases and prescribe the correct prescriptions.

For example, in 2017, in a small town near Moscow, a girl took an illegal drug she found on the internet and was lucky enough to be saved by an ambulance. Therefore, websites can write all kinds of information for money and no one will check it. However, such irresponsibility can cause terrible problems for many people. Considering all the factors, we can conclude that the Internet is a beautiful but dangerous place, and that people who are in serious situations, such as illness, should not listen to it. That is why I am convinced that making guesses using websites is not the best idea and it is better to consult a qualified professional.
