Topic: Nowadays young people are spending most of their leisure time using smartphones and tablets for entertainment. Is it a positive or negative development? Give your own opinion and examples.

Sample Answer 1:

With the ongoing pandemic, we can see that young minds are either impelled or are interested in spending more time on smartphones and tablets. As we all are switching to techno-savvy ways we often find ourselves especially the young minds spending more time on tablets or phones. Though techno-savvy ways have proved to be of great help we cannot simply deny the negative impact which it is casting on young minds. Let's have a glance at these negative effects.

To begin with, smartphone addicts are surely bound to suffer physical health problems in the coming years. Sticking to smartphones and tablets for entertainment will not only affect the eyes but will affect the body as a whole. Sticking to phones for long hours can cause physical problems like back pain and strain in the eyes. Moreover, this habit can make our body less active and lethargic in the physical fitness sense. It is very important for the young ones to be physically fit and mentally active. Young people should have a fitness routine to keep themselves physically and mentally happy and active.

In addition, sticking to smartphones and tablets can decline the communication and the bond between the relationship of parents and children. With the advanced technology for entertainment, the gap between the child and the parents increases causing a lack of communication between them. These entertainment techniques can leave a gap between the members of the family and can even make them introverted and unfriendly children. These young minds need to socialize more to develop their personality.

To conclude, in my opinion, smartphones and tablets should be used to an extent and not for leisure and amusement purposes. Over usage of these gadgets can leave an indelible impression on their minds and body.

Sample Answer 2:

With the great development in technology, our young generation is relying more on gadgets and technology. These gadgets and technology might seem to be a boon to some extent but simultaneously they can prove to be bane at a certain point. Sticking to these gadgets for long hours can be disastrous for the young generation. Let’s have a glance at these negative effects step by step.

Firstly, the young generation needs to focus more on their physical activity. Physical activity has many benefits, one of them being mental health and happiness. Physical activities can boost the cognitive thinking of young minds and can simultaneously boost their physical health. Sticking to mobile phones and tablets can squander their ability to do something out of the box.

Secondly, sticking to smartphones and tablets reduces socializing ability. For Long hours, spending time on tablets and smartphones can make an extrovert confident young mind into an introverted unconfident mind.

However, we cannot ignore the advantages of smartphones and tablets which have been bestowed upon us by advanced technology. Spending time on screen for long hours can help them to enhance their cognitive ability. Watching useful videos and learning something fruitful is a major boon that young minds can make use of. They can use the technology in the right way to enhance their personality in a better way.

Furthermore, these smartphones and tablets have proved to be of great importance during this pandemic. The techno-savvy ways have acted as an adjunct to the education system and have opened a door of technology for the future generation. The online mode of teaching has provided an additional alternative to which we can switch in difficult circumstances.

Thus, to conclude it wholly depends upon the child whether to use technology productively or simply squander their time and energy for entertainment purposes.

Sample Answer 3:

Using and exploring the world with the help of new gadgets seems to be an interesting and adventurous process for both the young and the old generation. The advanced technology has benefited the young generation in numerous ways but as we all know every development has its drawbacks and merits so is the smartphone and tablets. Let’s have a glance at this one by one.

To begin with, technology is a great boon for humans. Through advanced technology, the young generation can develop communication links between people from different backgrounds. Technology has enabled them to socialize more virtually. They can get an opportunity to interact with different people virtually.

Moreover, with the help of technology, the younger generation can find a forum to enhance their skills and develop the desired qualities like confidence, communication skills, and many more.

However, these advantages have their drawbacks which can affect the child in numerous ways. The long hours on screen can cause pain in the physical body and can affect their mental growth. Moreover, it can make them more introverted and less socializing with their parents and relatives.

To crown it all it entirely hinges on the child whether to carry the advantage of the technology productively or to dawdle their time for entertainment and amusement purposes.
