Topic: The maps below show Pebbleton 20 years ago and today. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Band 9 IELTS Answer
The map shows a comparison of Pebbeton 20 years ago and the map of the present day. This place became more residential and has had few changes in the past two decades.

20 years ago, the south direction had the lighthouse lane, and the north side had houses. In the center, we can see the old Fort Road. In the northwest corner, the city has the lighthouse and the old fort. On the corner of the river, the playing field is located. Additionally, a road bridge is the single way to go to school that is on the side of the river. A film studio was on the west following the road.

The scenario has changed a lot after 20 years. In the present map, we can see there are two ways to cross the river, the road bridge and a new footbridge. The old fort is replaced as a children’s playground, and the film studio is converted to flats. New tennis courts have been placed between the footpath and the lighthouse lane. The community center is located between the houses and the children’s playground.

Band 8.5 IELTS Answer
The two maps show the details of the town of Pebbleton 20 years in the past and the present day. Looking from a general perspective, it is shown that the town becomes more residential and gives more access to pedestrians.

The most notable changes in the town are relatable to the evolutions of housing. On the northern end of the narrow peninsula, additional houses are there, and the old fort is replaced with a children’s playground, and the only thing that remains unchanged in these 20 years is the lighthouse. On the south side of the community, there are new tennis courts, which link with a footpath, the lighthouse lane. The footbridge connects with the school, which is on the other side of a small river.

The noticeable change is a former film studio on the southwestern side of the peninsula is now a block of flats. The main roads, a playground on the southern side, have most of the wooded space around the town and remained unchanged.

Band 8 IELTS Answer
The map illustrates the changes that happened in the village of Pebbleton during 20 20-year period. Overall, while the southern side and the eastern sides remain the same, some significant changes have been made in the north side and the center of this village.

As this is clearly shown in the maps, on the east side of the village, the old fort road meets the road bridge, and the road bridge is the only way to cross the river. The wooden spaces close to Old Fort Road, and the south of the village and school also remain the same.

The lighthouse is in the same place, and a new children’s playground is placed on the old fort place. To the opposite of the lighthouse, there was a film studio. In the place of the film studio, there are flats on the present map.
