Pay a Fee For A Certification IELTS Reading Answers

Section A

In this issue of "Jobs Plus", we are going to discuss a disruptive issue in the career field: scammers. What are they? Well, scammers are con artists who know that finding a job can be a difficult and somewhat unpleasant task. In order to confuse people, scammers are likely to advertise on the same sites and job boards that real employers would post.

They also make false promises about your "high chances" of employment, and almost all of them will ask you to provide payment for services before getting the job.

Section B

Scammers will probably tell you that they have a job waiting for you, or they may even guarantee to place you in a certain position if you pay a fee. Other times, they will have you pay for a certification, training materials, or a recruiting fee. The clearest sign is that once you pay, the job never materializes! Additionally, scammers may ask you for your

credit card or bank information in order to pay a fee for a certification, training materials, or the like. In these cases, after you pay, the job doesn't materialize. Real employers and employment firms will never ask you to pay for the promise of a job.

Section C

It is best not to get confused with real, legitimate services that will place you with a great employer. These services will never ask you for money in advance and will deliver on their promises. They always have an accredited website and are easily reachable by telephone or email. You will most likely find information about them on LinkedIn, and there are actually many success stories regarding their services!

Section D

a We're going to take a break from talking about scammers for a moment, and focus on the legitimate types of services a applicants can sometimes be faced with. Make sure that you understand whether or not you are working with a placement service or a counseling service. What are the differences? Well, counseling services will help people with career directions and decisions. Placement services, on the other hand, usually require a hefty fee for directly placing you a with a company for a fied amount of time.

Section E

Now, if you know what to look a for in a scammer, you will most likely be successful in avoiding one. However, do you know where you can find attractive job offers? In addition to scouring online job boards and newspaper classifieds, check out various websites and LinkedIn networks. Your state and county offices will also a be a great place to look for local work in your area, as well as college career services offices. Most people believe they have to be university students in order to utilize college services, but it is not always the case!

Section F

Even if you follow all of our tips and tricks in avoiding job scams, you might happen to fall upon one. If that is the case, be aware of your rights. You should always file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and provide as much detail as possible. If you have problems with employment firms, on the other hand, research the appropriate state licensing board and take it up with the right office.

Section G

At the end of the day, you are your own greatest resource. There is no time like the present to research the correct way to go about saving yourself the hassle of dealing with the financial liabilities of interacting with a job scammer. Make a sure you are well aware of everything you can do to avoid these circumstances. Why don't you try researching your local job boards and conferences for ways in which you can keep safe from these con artists? Perhaps by doing so, you can help others as well!
