Topic: Online education is becoming more and more popular. Some people claim that e-learning has so many benefits that it will replace face – to – face education. Others say that traditional education is irreplaceable. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Model Answer 1

Technological development has increased the opportunities for the people around the world in different fields and areas. Education especially has experienced drastic changes in terms of technological advancement with the e-learning process that some people consider to have major benefits and would replace face-to-face education. However, many other people believe that the traditional method of education is irreplaceable. In my opinion, both methods have their own benefits and need to coexist in society. Considering the advantages of online learning and education, it is possible for students to study and learn from any place or time they want. It saves time, energy and is also cost-efficient for the students. The flexibility provided by e-learning method ensures that students not only have convenience in studying but also ensures that students remain interested. Moreover, with the help of e-learning it has been possible for the students to constantly have access to the internet that allows the students to expand their knowledge, skills and ideas effectively. For instance, it may be identified that Harvard University through their online courses have been able to provide opportunities to students across the world. Through e-learning teachers also benefit in terms of providing them with materials and notes for studying, track students’ performances as well as provide them with training. Each individual student could be judged and performances can be assessed by the teachers through the online mode of education. However, taking into consideration the traditional methods of teaching which also have benefits that e-learning cannot provide, the foremost issue in the latter is that the interaction level of student-teachers is much lower. Through traditional methods it is possible for teachers to fix mistakes and doubts of the students immediately which does not happen often in e-learning methods where students become incapable of coming up with doubts. The motivation that students derive from face-to-face education is more impactful for the students rather than an e-learning method. Accordingly, while self-awareness is increased through e-learning, inspiration is gained from traditional methods. Thus, it can be attributed that both have pros and cons and need to coexist to maximize the performances of students.

Model Answer 2

Due to advancement in technology as well as the covid19 pandemic, most working conditions have shifted to online methods. Education, precisely, has also found its way through e-learning methods which has allowed students to complete their educational courses confined to their homes with benefits that some people have considered to replace face-to face learning. However, many people somehow believe that traditional learning methods are irreplaceable, which in my opinion I do not agree with. While both e-learning has its pros and cons, in my opinion both e-learning and traditional methods are important and need to be sustained in society for higher benefits. Accordingly, the e-learning method has the benefit of being able to provide the students with the convenience to sit in their homes and access video meetings through which classes could be attended. Students can also learn extra-curricular courses apart from their school level academics which allows them to enhance their skills further. Moreover, e-learning ensures that students are able to access different kinds of materials thereby enhancing their knowledge and creative abilities. However, students can pursue different courses from different universities without having to worry about how they would access transportation or rent or real estate issues. On the other hand, e-learning however has led to students not gaining the confidence enough to speak up publicly in front of different people which is lowering their self-esteem as well. Teachers are able to ensure that they clear the doubts and mistakes of the students immediately while they are identified thereby making them learn instantly which is not possible through e-learning. The level of student to student interaction taking place in face-to-face education and the lack of teacher-student interaction, both affect the way in which students are molded or are able to clarify their questions. Hence, it may be identified that the advantages and disadvantages are included within both the methods of education and it is important for both styles to remain in the education system so that the benefits of each outweighs any disadvantage they have.

Model Answer 3

With the help of technology that has led to the coming of online methods of conducting business, employment and even education, the benefits of the same have also increased. Education based on e-learning has enhanced the benefits in terms of convenience, cost and time saving which has led people to believe that e-learning will replace face to face education. However, many people still believe that traditional methods of education are irreplaceable. My opinion is that both these methods of education have their own benefits and disadvantages and that the presence of both is how education would benefit the students. The advantages of e-learning for the students can be identified with the ability to make use of the internet for gaining knowledge, information, downloading of books and references, etc., which has enabled higher convenience for the students. Moreover, students are being able to pursue educational courses of different kinds apart from their academics hence, being able to enhance their skills and knowledge further. Moreover, it becomes essential to consider the fact that teachers are able to track students' performances even through online learning methods as in face-to-face. Students might find it difficult to clear their doubts or even gain the motivation to ask questions while they learn from e-learning methods. Students also are unable to build networks and relationships with their classmates that might have future possibilities for them to build their careers. It is possible for both the methods to integrate and students' performance is enhanced with benefits of both methods being combined. This implies that through Google classrooms students' performances are tracked while face-to-face mode of education is enabled for the purpose of better learning and doubt clarification.
