One of your friends is going to visit your city for a short period IELTS Writing Task 1 is a letter writing topic. Candidates are asked to write an informal letter. Each of the three sample responses contains an introduction, a body, and a conclusion in three paragraphs. The letter must be brief and to the point.
For IELTS General Writing Task 1, letters can be written in formal, informal, or semi-formal styles. The candidates must complete the task in 20 minutes. Topic: One of your friends is going to visit your city for a short period. Write a letter to your friend. In your letter, you should:

tell him what time of the year is most suitable for sightseeing around the city
describe some places that are worth visiting
say how to find an inexpensive hotel

Band 7 IELTS Letter

Dear Johnson,

I hope all is well with you. Knowing that you will visit my city with your family next month makes me very happy. You all made a wise choice to travel to Singapore during your children's summer vacation, and I know you will all have a great time there. We can order tickets for Night Safari, Adventure Cove Park, and Universal Studio after you arrive in my city.

Those are fairly well-liked by tourists, and I deliberately chose them with your kids in mind. A visit from you at my home would be wonderful. You can have privacy in my roomy home, which is spacious. Bukit Timah Road, on the other hand, is my recommendation if you choose to remain apart. Consequently, if you must stay at a hotel, make a reservation at the Banana Leaf or Pandora Hotels. But I will not let you leave my house without my permission. After reading your letter from last week, I'm quite overwhelmed. I hope you are doing well and that everything is good for you. In response to your letter and in light of your intention to travel to Shimla, I am writing this letter. Shimla is a stunning mountain resort, and the months of June and July are the finest for travel there.

Because the weather is cooler at that time of year, you should visit my city then. While other regions of the nation have a hot climate. The location's beauty is best viewed at this time of day. Shimla offers a variety of attractions, but The Ridge is the most well-known. From here, one can appreciate the natural beauty of the hills, trees, and modest dwellings that locals created by slicing into the slopes of the hills. A church, the Jakhu temple, and the Indian Institute of Research and Technology are nearby. We'll also go to Mall Road, which is well-known for its shopping. There are also tiny shops and eateries where you may sample a variety of cuisines. We'll enjoy our time together. If you stay with us at my place, my family will be content. However, there are numerous motels close by if you don't feel comfortable and I'll seek a cheap place to stay. I'm eagerly anticipating your coming to my home. Give your kids my love.

Dear Joe,

I am so happy to hear your letter, and I'm writing to let you know how intrigued I am to have you visit my city in a few days. I'm looking forward to meeting you at the airport. You're probably visiting Italy for the first time, and I have no doubt that you'll have a great time and leave with some wonderful memories.

You can stay in Rome for a day or two after completing your professional obligations there to explore the capital city. Particularly the Pantheon, St. Peter's Basilica, Trevi Fountain, Colosseum, and Castel Sant'Angelo. If your office has not already made arrangements for your lodging, you may stay at the Hotel Palladium Palace. Then travel immediately to Lucca, where I am currently residing. I'll be at the airport if you give me a call before you get there. You are welcome to remain as long as you desire at my house. If a hotel is what you must have, choose Villa Corte Degli Dei or Hotel Napoleon. We'll eat some of the cuisine from the area, see a movie, and go boating. Every evening, we may appreciate the natural beauty. Due to the impending winter, I would advise you to pack some warm clothing. Don't forget to bring your camera so you can capture the usual street views and stunning river views. Bring any prescription medications you take as well. I'm excited to have you visit my city soon.
