Band 6.5 IELTS Essay

It is true that fewer young people now than in the past are interested in learning about tradition and culture. However, this predicament is attributed to industrialization and globalisation. In my opinion, it is a generally unfavourable development, and I'll explain why in the paragraphs that follow. I'll start by addressing the fundamental cause of the problem.

It is the current state of technology, which has made geographical barriers between people no longer exist. Contrary to earlier times, people are now becoming immersed in cultures from other countries and abandoning their own. For instance, youngsters prefer to celebrate Halloween and Christmas with tremendous fervour, even though they are unaware of their own traditions and customs. Additionally, they avoid spending time with elderly people because of distracting technologies like excessive cell phone use. Since they spend much of their time on mobile devices, young people don't have time to interact with the elderly. Elders are known as keepers of historical events. Because of this, they are unaware of their illustrious background. In addition, there are other grounds to think that this is a bad scenario, despite the opinions stated above. Cultural heritage can re-establish a connection between young people and their past by reflecting historical events. A nation's identity will undoubtedly be lost if its young people are not connected to its roots. Additionally, modern civilizations are workaholic, which promotes a self-centred society in which people are less sympathetic to their environment. Culture may foster a sense of obligation to the country and its history. Additionally, as young people are a nation's public face, they can represent their country abroad. As a result, they can only depict the country if they are aware of it. To sum up, technology is held responsible for the youth's lack of interest in culture, and overall, it has a negative impact on both society and the person.

Band 7.5 IELTS Essay

Childhood understanding of their culture was rife among children back then. There are numerous changes occurring in many disciplines as a result of the changing times. As opposed to earlier generations, the younger generation nowadays is far less familiar with their customs and culture. The primary causes will be discussed in this essay.

Additionally, it will clarify in the following paragraphs whether the change is beneficial or negative. There are numerous causes for this, to start with. Children are increasingly focusing on their education in modern times, first and foremost. Following that stage, they concentrate on their occupations, which keep them occupied for the rest of their lives. Because they have little or no time to learn about their cultural values. For instance, students spend roughly a third of their day in schools and other educational facilities, and then they are required to do homework assignments. It leaves them with little time to learn about their culture. A secondary issue that is fully to blame for this problem is the absence of family get-togethers. For instance, due to a lack of time and interest, people are unable to attend intimate gatherings. The primary concern that arises when we move on to the next component is whether this development will be good or bad for society. If I think about it logically, this will put the community at risk because a large portion of the people lack knowledge of their traditional practices. Additionally, because of the contemporary context, children do not desire to study about these historical artefacts. They think the appeal of western culture outweighs that of our traditional values. To sum up, I'd want to emphasise the importance of preserving our traditions and history so that future generations will be aware of their inheritance. Furthermore, because of the problem's deep-rooted nature, it cannot be resolved quickly or by one person.

Band 8 IELTS Essay

Young people today are less cognizant of customs and culture than they were in the past. There are several causes for this occurrence, but the two primary ones are the development of technology and the quality of education. From my vantage point, I think this problem negatively affects society. To begin with, young adults' lack of knowledge of customs is a result of modern society.

Being exposed to a new environment intrigues children to the point where they think modern conveniences are more appealing than conventional principles. People are drawn into the Internet, for instance, even if it is a weird place to them. As a result, people have a tendency to neglect them and are unwilling to learn about these old possessions. Another aspect contributing to this issue is the education system's lack of emphasis on teaching students about familiarity with customs and cultures. In most cases, students spend one-third of their day in school or another educational facility learning. There is, however, no lesson directing students to learn more about conventional values and how to uphold them. After school, they are weighed down by their homework even if they wish to learn more about that subject. Personally, I believe that the community will suffer as a result of this development. Traditions and cultures are regarded as the essence of a country because they stand for its existence. Because the younger generation is less familiar with traditional culture, a country will eventually vanish. Otherwise, the nation will become stronger in many ways provided that citizens have a firm understanding of the cultural values. Take Vietnam as an example. Despite being occupied by France for more than a century, this nation managed to resist the colonisers and win its independence. This was due to the preservation and knowledge of traditional values. In conclusion, it is important to preserve our past history and traditions. So that the next generation would be better informed about their heritage. Additionally, as this issue may result in a number of negative consequences, both governments and individuals should work together to find a solution.
