Band 6.5 IELTS Essay

Nowadays, for many people, shopping is just a hobby as opposed to being a domestic chore like it once was. Although I acknowledge that there are some benefits to this, I firmly believe that it is a bad propensity. Because it can lead to shopping addiction and financial ruin.

According to many, shopping as a hobby might occasionally have positive effects on your health. The most obvious advantage is that it cheers up shoppers. In other words, buying makes you feel accomplished, which makes you happy. In fact, the endorphins that are produced by the heightened sentiments of happiness. Exercise is another clear benefit. Simply said, carrying heavy bags while doing your grocery shopping appears to be a terrific cardiovascular workout. For instance, a recent study found that women who spend a lot of time shopping are physically active. Which lowers their risk of developing cardiovascular diseases.

Despite this, shopping for pleasure rather than for necessities can become an addiction. Shopping addiction. Often referred to as compulsive shopping disorder, is a behavior that involves overspending. And buying things that are not necessities and could be hazardous to the person engaging in it. The most damaging result of compulsive shopping disorder is debt.

That is to say, non-stop consumers are likely to struggle with money management issues, and they frequently resort to using credit to sate their ravenous needs. In addition, those who are dependent on shopping may borrow money from friends and relatives to support their addiction.

In fact, someone with compulsive shopping conditions is more likely to borrow money continuously. Even when they are about to lose the ability to pay back their debt, which can ruin a relationship.

In conclusion, despite the positive effects of the hobby of shopping, this is a bad development. Because it puts one's ability to manage their finances and relationships at risk.

Band 8 IELTS Essay

In recent years, the change in spending capital to buy the community's needs has occurred dramatically. As a result, it will always be a controversial topic whether it is a bad or positive trend relating to shopping. Habit which has become a routine task and even a hobby. This essay, as my point of view, leads to, will try to come up with several considerations. As I believe that an intermediate position can be taken relating to this issue.

Shopping, which contradicts the topic regards, is a "nightmare" because of the impacts which are dire & inevitable. Consumerism, in some ways, contributes bad things to society as well as the civilisations. Society who over capitalize their salary can spend their revenues on nothing and as a result. They suffer in managing their funding and try to borrow a big amount of property for just their basic needs. Psychologists argue that addiction in shopping which creates consumerism behavior can lead to several criminal dire effects such as robbery and stealing.

However, without shopping and its relating ,governments will face the problem of controlling the economy. The thing which can grow the Gross Domestic Products indicator is expenditures, especially the private ones. Without increasing this indicator, there will be severe implications which the economist called unemployment. The improvement of spending payment indicates that people in the country are wealthy. And also projects the prosperity of the nation which influences the corporations to produce products in high quantity as well as high quality. Throughout this trend, employers will try to provide immense chances for the public to get their job in corporations. As a consequence, spending in buying products, even if it is a hobby or not, with larger portions helps the economy matters indirectly.

To sum up, having considered the discussion above, I believe it will always create both positive and negative impacts. But shopping habits can be useful if the shoppers expand their capital wisely.

Band 9 IELTS Essay

People used to only buy things they actually needed back then. But as their spending power has grown over the past few decades, many people now consider shopping to be their favorite pastime. This trend should be resisted, in my opinion, because excessive consumption is harmful to both society and the environment.

Over time, society has become more prosperous. They now buy pretty much anything they can find on the market as a result. Whether or not they genuinely need the thing is unimportant to them. The fact that people regularly replace their automobiles and mobile phones is evidence that shopping has turned into a passion. Every six months, manufacturers offer updated versions of their products to capitalize on this obsessive drive to shop. Even if the adjustments might only be slight, individuals nevertheless place their orders months in advance.

This trend's tendency to foster peer competition is unsettling. Additionally, careless drinking puts people in serious financial trouble. Due to the widespread availability of credit cards today, consumers can make purchases even when they do not have cash on hand. Sadly, individuals are caught in the debt cycle when they miss a card payment.

The fact that excessive consumption increases rubbish creation is another serious drawback. Already, things that are still very much usable are overwhelming landfills. This pollutes the land and water. The fact that this development causes further loss of already-scarce resources is another drawback. For instance, more trees must be felled when demand for furniture rises. Additionally, power is needed for production, which increases the amount of fossil fuels burned.

In conclusion, no one benefits when shopping turns into a pastime. It causes the consumer financial hardship and harms the environment. So, in my opinion, this is a bad development that needs to be stopped.
