Band 6.5 IELTS Answer

The bar graph examines the proportions of graduates in five different occupations in five different years between 1992, 1997, and 2002. While the line graph displays the number of recently graduated students in the UK. A fast increase to a peak was followed by a less abrupt decline and an overall upward trend for the number of recent graduates in the UK.

While professional-skilled occupations were the top choice of recent graduates, working in a sales department was the least preferred. The UK welcomed 165,000 recent graduates in 1992. After a sharp rise to a peak of 195,000 in 1997, this number subsequently fell sharply over the following five years, to 180,000. The breakdown shows that, despite the fact that the biggest proportion of recent graduates—approximately 58%—became professionals in 1992. This type of occupation rapidly declined in popularity, with just 43% of persons selecting it in 2002.

The percentage of recent graduates working as managers and administrators experienced a negligible downward trend. Thereby, falling from well over 20% (about 33,000 graduates) to about 18% in 1997 and remaining constant until 2002. In contrast, the number of young adults interested in clerical and secretarial employment increased throughout this time. It rose roughly tripling from 9% to 20%.

In a similar vein, sales and other occupations showed a little increase in popularity among recently graduated students—roughly 10%.

In overall perspective, the number of newly graduates in the United Kingdom experienced a sharp rise to a peak. Accompanied by a less exciting fall with an overall rising trend. While jobs demanding professional skills were the top choice of new graduates. Working in a sales department was the norm every five years.

In 1992, the UK welcomed 165, 000 fresh bachelors. This number then increased drastically and hit a peak of 195, 000 in 1997 before collapsing back to 180, 000 in the next five years.

It can be witnessed from the breakdown that although the biggest percentage of about 58% of fresh bachelors in 1992 became acknowledged workers. This kind of job steadily lost its reputation with only 43% of people wanting this profession in 2002. Encountering an insignificant downward leaning. The proportion of new bachelors working as managers and administrators diminished from well over 20%. Which is about 33, 000 graduates to around 18% in 1997 and remained stable till 2002. There might be many factors responsible for the increase of graduates in 1997. One of the reasons can be the increasing influence of graduation and further study. Especially in the rural areas, students are not allowed to study after high school. Due to increased influence and awareness of graduation, students are choosing to study it.

By contradiction, more young grown-ups were keen on clerical and secretarial positions. With the figure multiplying from nearly 9% to roughly 20% over the period. Moreover, sales and other services also saw a rise in popularity among new finishing students. Yet negligible, to around 10%.

One of the reasons can be the increasing influence of graduation and further study. Especially in the rural areas, students are not allowed to study after high school. Due to increased influence and awareness of graduation, students are choosing to study it.

Overall, It is clear that the graduate figure of British students in the first five years before declining in the later five years of period . Professional fields were chosen by most students after they graduated.

In the line graph. The rate shows about 165 thousand students graduated from university in 1992. There was a drastic rise in the rate to 30,000 after five years. Then, this rate decreased to 180,000 at the end of this year. Managerial and administrative is another field which is chosen by my graduates. Sales and other streams are least chosen. These fields were not paid attention. While professionalism is most opted by the students. There might be many streams within professionalism.

Regarding the employment chart, the professional data was the highest, with just under 60% which students graduates worked in and declined by 5% each five years period. The same trend was repeated in the figure for management and administration, despite its figure being only equal to a third. In comparison, more young grown-ups were keen on clerical and secretarial positions, with the figure multiplying from nearly 9% to 8% over the period.
