Multinational companies are becoming increasingly common in developing countries. IELTS Writing Task 2 consists of three sample answers provided below. The task requires the candidates to provide a tentative and argumentative answer for the question. The sample answers comprises two parts: Introduction and body. The introduction is a brief description about the topic. The body contains argumentative statements and tentative answers to support the test-taker's perspective.
IELTS writing task 2 evaluates candidates based on the knowledge and views they have expressed. The areas that candidates are assessed on are grammar, vocabulary, and style. IELTS writing score is marked based on band scores. The band scores range from 0 to 9. Band 6.5 IELTS Essay

A growing number of multinational corporations are opening branches or offices in emerging nations. The main benefits of having large-scale industries are that they will expand employment and lower poverty. But the main disadvantage is that they make workers work hard. International businesses contribute to the interdependence of national economies. They are able to create and leverage networks between national economies, and their ability to operate across several nations creates a single market.

Global markets are now more open, more competitive, and relevant to a system run on a global scale because of the existence of numerous market participants. As seen from cross-border mergers, strategic alliances, and acquisitions claim that multinationals have the ability to accelerate the process of globalisation. For instance, Carr and Garcia have been able to expand through their moves and countermoves to other markets.

Global organisations frequently provide jobs to developing countries. Today, every country creates a large number of physicians, scientists, and engineers but fails to provide them with worthwhile employment. Talented and educated people are given good jobs when international corporations open headquarters in developing countries. For instance, a research by the Times found that Indian STEM graduates prefer to stay in their country. This is since they can find acceptable employment there rather than travelling abroad in search of better possibilities. Furthermore, large enterprises create jobs for both qualified and unskilled individuals. China is another illustration. Because businesses like Apple and Google produce their goods there, it is referred to as a “manufacturing hub.” The biggest drawback of investments made by international firms is that employees must put in more work while earning less money. This in comparison to people in industrialised countries. Employees frequently gripe that their bosses force them to put in extra time to fulfil their goals. For instance, global Indian IT businesses require their staff to put in more than eight hours a day. This is in order to accomplish activities and deliver assignments to clients in other parts of the world. In conclusion, international businesses provide jobs for both skilled and unskilled labourers in developing countries. But they also make people modify their lifestyles by making them work extra hours.

Band 7 IELTS Essay 

Multinational corporations and their goods are all around us, and we tend to believe that they are more reliable and durable. The practice of encouraging foreign companies has made us reliant on their goods. This has a negative influence on both our finances and the value of the national currency. International brands typically cost more than domestic ones, although they sometimes have better packaging and promotion. Despite the fact that local items are of high quality and longevity, consumers prefer foreign goods due to the influence of advertisements.

As a result, there is a greater market demand for products from other countries, which results in more profits and more sales in our own nation. People in a country often hunt for imported goods because many products are not produced there. As a result, the demands on people vary depending on the goods that multinational corporations sell. The multinational corporation is creating a lot of employment markets, but on the other hand, their products are also destroying a lot of local products.

Multinational corporations have assets in at least one foreign country in addition to their home market. This classification applies to any asset that a company owns that is located outside of its country of origin. However, it could also be a joint venture agreement, an administrative satellite, or even research and development initiatives. Many people concentrate on manufacturing or production assets. The company's headquarters serve as its core management location for these assets. Direct company assistance is provided to local employees, but each managing director is required to report to the executive team. This individual is in charge of overseeing the entire business. A global firm has a separate organisational structure that permits each satellite to operate independently of the others. While providing just guidance not oversight for progress. I genuinely believe that global corporations are lowering the quality of our lives, but there are also ways in which they are improving it. 

Band 7.5 IELTS Essay 

Transnational firms are expanding quickly in underdeveloped nations. With regard to low labour costs, it is a good indicator for businesses. However, making employees work long hours has several disadvantages. The low cost of product production is the main advantage of establishing businesses in underdeveloped nations. This is due to the fact that businesses hire workers at extremely low rates to make goods in contrast to the high earnings in their home countries. The wages in industrialised nations are over two times higher than those in developing nations.

For instance, Apple assembles and produces the majority of its products in Japan, which explains why costly iPhones start at $499. MNCs are definitely more necessary than SMEs in the early stages of development. Because few individuals in the nation currently possess the resources and business experience necessary to operate a business. The government should swiftly change its policy priorities and expand the prospects for SME growth. Nevertheless, once the nation is more developed and its citizens have more resources and knowledge.

There is a downside to the rise in international corporations, though. These businesses strictly enforce their own work-hour policies for their own gain in order to produce outcomes. In these businesses, employees occasionally have to put in around 14 hours per day to meet deadlines. People are under tremendous pressure to work harder than they can handle, which is having an impact on their mental health. One such instance is the New York Times' 2011 allegation that numerous Chinese labourers were killing themselves in China. This was as a result of being under intense pressure from the Apple firm to work excessive hours. In conclusion, low-cost labour is the main advantage for multinational corporations that prefer to have their products made in developing nations. But the largest disadvantage is that they also exploit individuals by making them work harder and longer hours.
