Topic: Most large companies nowadays operate multinationally. To what extent multinational companies have responsibility toward local communities in which they operate?

Model Answer 1

It is fairly unusual for many major corporations to have offices in many countries these days. Coca-Cola, Samsung, and Google, to mention a few, are examples of global businesses that have a presence in virtually every country on the planet. Such businesses, it is claimed, should have a social duty, particularly to local communities. Owners and managers have a social responsibility to offer work possibilities for locals and treat them properly. Rather than abusing them. They might, for example, pay a "living wage" to guarantee that local workers have a decent standard of living. I also think it's a good idea for firms to donate a part of their revenues to local charities, environmental projects, or educational efforts. Finally, rather than attempting to reduce their tax liability by exploiting accounting flaws. Company executives, in my opinion, should be pleased to contribute to society through the tax system.
On the one hand, because companies must generate money in order to exist in a competitive environment, the degree of accountability should be limited. Any worries about social obligations become meaningless if a firm is unable to pay its debts or fulfill changing client requirements. In other words, a firm can only contribute positively to society if it is financially sound. As a result, it must prioritize ensuring its work productivity. This would imply that local workers must satisfy a specific level, such as graduating from high school, in order to be hired. Another issue to consider is that not all major corporations are well-known or financially successful. So expecting a substantial financial reward from them is unrealistic. If companies want to stay competitive, businesses must invest in upgrades and innovations. Finally, global corporations with a strong reputation and high revenues should contribute as much as feasible. But forcing other less successful or well-known corporations to do so is unrealistic.

Model Answer 2

In the modern period, an increasing number of international companies have established operations all over the world. These businesses clearly generate a lot of money, but they also make a major contribution to the native population.
Because of the simplicity with which business laws and regulations may be followed. A large number of well-known businesses have begun operations all over the world. Particularly in developing nations where labor is relatively inexpensive. On the one hand, these businesses help to fuel the economy. By bringing massive amounts of foreign cash into these countries. On the other hand, the money they pay in taxes benefits indigenous peoples.
Nonetheless, I believe these enterprises have an extra role to play, and it is their responsibility to assist the communities in which they operate. For starters, multinational firms can set aside a particular number of seats or employment quotas for locals. Giving them the opportunity to work for respected corporations. Furthermore, the benefits they provide may improve the quality of life in local communities. Furthermore, education institutes can be developed to train disadvantaged people of society so that they can better serve their nation. Furthermore, businesses might set aside a specific amount of money for the health sector.
For example, Microsoft's fully financed "Eradicate Polio" initiative is on track to eradicate the disease throughout Southeast Asia within 10 years. Similarly, worldwide corporations may aid in the prevention of dangerous and life-threatening illnesses. To summarize, governments can get different tax and sharing benefits from organizations functioning in their nations. However, these businesses also have a duty to assist people in the areas of employment, education, and health.

Model Answer 3

Multinational corporations have grown in popularity in recent years, and this is evident. These businesses, in my opinion, must be accountable for local residents, and their support is required for their employees and local residents.
To begin with, there are a multitude of reasons why major corporations from various countries have a significant impact on local communities. First and foremost, corporations have the potential to pollute the natural environment when they construct or manufacture. Running industries, disposing of trash, and just using air conditioners are all examples of factors that contribute to air and water pollution.
As a result, they must accept responsibility for limiting the amount of pollutants discharged in order to preserve the surrounding ecosystem. Furthermore, international corporations have a significant duty to pay taxes on time. If they do not follow, they will break national laws and, as a result, deprive residents of advantages that they have earned. Companies with a multinational workforce, on the other hand, should assist their employees and local residents for the following reasons. To begin with, training their staff might increase the amount of their items.
To be more precise, laborers will operate more efficiently if they are familiar with the items they produce and the equipment they utilize on a regular basis. Second, employers must safeguard the health of their employees by providing safe working conditions and paying appropriate wages. In reality, some harmful issues, such as child labour, starvation pay, and unsafe working circumstances, must be avoided. Finally, the operation of international big corporations is critical for economic growth. However, I believe that taking responsibility for people in local countries and assisting them as well as the workforce is critical.
