Modern technology has ingrained itself deeply into workplace culture. Nearly all areas of employment have been significantly impacted by this innovation and transformation.

The way people work and the entire workplace culture have altered as a result. Both benefits and drawbacks can be found in this. Technology advancements have significantly enhanced employee productivity. Humans have benefited from the growth of machines. Since word processing programmes and Microsoft Excel sheets have made work easier, employee productivity has grown. Previously, keeping data on paper was a laborious procedure. Current technology has made it easier by reducing the number of potential mistakes. Technology can store data for you and can be accessed anytime. Besides that, modern technologies have made it easier for numerous employees from all over the world to collaborate. People easily communicate via email and video conferencing using different meeting portals. It is debatable if relying on technology can have drawbacks. There are a few disadvantages of technology like everything else. Documents uploaded to the program are vulnerable to being hacked. System files might become corrupted, resulting in the loss of all important data. People have become vulnerable as they store data in the cloud space. If this gets crashed, companies might lose all data. There are several technologies for keeping the backup but it allows extra work.

To summarize, employee productivity has unquestionably risen as a result of technological advancements. This has simplified their job processes. However, the significant detrimental consequences of technology on employee information must not be disregarded.

In this essay, we will discuss if the disadvantages outweigh the advantages of technology in the modern world.

The first advantage that comes to mind is the efficiency of the work. Technology has helped humans to be more efficient. Applications like Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, etc have helped people manage huge data and create presentations at a glance. The data that was previously written by hand are now done in excel. This has reduced the work pressure and also made them error-free. Technology has the capability to store thousands of data at a time. This would be impossible if done manually. The searching and finding of any specific data have become easier and time-saving. Technology has made it possible for humans to meet over the internet. This was not possible 2-3 decades ago. The advancement of technology has made work from home possible without any hassle. Friends and colleagues can meet over various applications like Zoom, and Skype and discuss various projects. The list of benefits of technology never happens to cease.

There are disadvantages like losing the data that is stored. If the software crashes, we might lose the data. The high risk of hacking is also an important factor to consider. Though there are risks of storing data or using technology, modern workplaces do not seem to stop. This is because there are multiple advantages. The disadvantages can somehow be rectified and hence, technology is very common in workplaces.

People might face technical issues in ongoing meetings or work. This will not happen if they are having face-to-face meetings. Considering the disadvantages, the advantages are more likely to be used.
