Band 7.5 IELTS Essay

Shopping is one of the many ways in which the development of information and technology has benefited individuals. While there is a group that supports the idea that modern shopping has been made easier by such technologies, there is also a minority that disagrees. This essay will clarify both points of view. And give my arguments for why I believe that individuals have benefited from internet shopping by finding it more convenient and easy to shop.

To start, we should mention that we now engage in online shopping. With just a few clicks, everything can be purchased and delivered right to our doorsteps. It is obvious that it is much more appropriate for today's youth. Who are so occupied with their work and studies that they do not have time to wander the aisles of supermarkets. People can, for instance, order their weekly or monthly groceries online from their preferred shops like Coles and Aldi. Furthermore, it is so simple, practical, and secure that anyone who is not tech savvy may use it.

On the other hand, some individuals are opposed to digital buying because they think there may be a potential of falling victim to online fraud. Such actions could take many different forms, such as charging a higher price than the market would bear. Using a bank card (such as a Visa or Mastercard) for payment inadvertently. Delivering the wrong goods or goods of far poorer quality than advertised on digital platforms, and more. Many of these accusations have already come to light. And as a result, many respectable digital businesses like Amazon have attempted to remedy these issues. And the outcomes have been abundant.

In a nutshell, digital technologies have undoubtedly made life simpler for consumers when it comes to buying. Although there may be some drawbacks or disadvantages to this, such as becoming a victim of internet fraud. Clients should be aware of the business they are transacting with in order to avoid being conned.

Band 8 IELTS Essay

Although some argue that technological developments have negatively influenced purchasing by making it more difficult, others do not. Despite some negatives, in my opinion, I think that overall, technology has made shopping easier in most circumstances.

On the one hand, some people believe that technology has made buying harder for a variety of reasons. Online shopping was made possible by technology, but it has also created a plethora of possibilities. That can make it difficult to make a selection and cause a lot of lost time. Additionally, shopping could be more challenging because it might be challenging to judge the exact size of products when purchasing some items online. For instance, fitting before buying apparel or shoes is not possible with online shopping.

However, due to convenience, technology has made shopping simpler. The developments in technology of today include internet shopping. Which enables people with limited mobility to acquire what they need without leaving the house. For instance, the COVID-19 pandemic has made shopping challenging because some brick-and-mortar establishments have closed. Thanks to technology, consumers can place online orders for goods without ever leaving their homes. Additionally, adding delivery simplifies buying. In a conventional business, customers must have a means of returning their purchases, which may be challenging for individuals without personal vehicles.

Finally, instead of needing to go to another store if a person cannot find what they are looking for. On one website or app, they can quickly go on another website or app.

In conclusion, technology has made buying easier by making it significantly more convenient for people. Even though there are a few negatives to purchasing online, such as limitless selections and trouble with sizing. To sum up, shopping online is simpler because people no longer need to leave their houses and do not need to arrange transportation. Also there is a huge variety of products offered online as compared to the variety in the market. It also provided opportunity for small businesses to grow.

Band 9 IELTS Essay

While some claim that technology has simplified shopping, others say that it has not had the desired effect. This essay will discuss both points of view. Technology has undoubtedly facilitated buying on the one hand. Nowadays, e-commerce companies like Amazon have made it simple to find the products through their site search function. Unlike in the past when individuals had to drive to stores and spend a lot of time doing so. So if you want to buy a laptop, for instance, all you have to do is type the term laptop into the search bar and select a price range. You will be shown all models in that price range along with detailed information.

Selecting a model that meets your demands and completing the checkout don't take more than a few minutes. The item will be delivered to your door a few days after payment has been received. Another benefit of online buying is that it allows us to purchase goods that are not sold in physical stores in our nation.

Of course, this convenience has significant drawbacks. Cyber crime is one of them. People constantly run the danger of having their financial information stolen while making purchases from internet merchants. Another drawback is that online purchases might not always meet our expectations. It is possible to return, but it will take several days. Last but not least, last-minute purchases should not be made online. The only thing we can do if we need something right now is run to the closest store.

In conclusion, despite the fact that online shopping does have certain drawbacks. It has made purchasing more easier, as evidenced by the explosive growth of online retailers. We can avoid a lot of the drawbacks of online buying if we shop wisely and from reputable retailers.
