The pie charts given above are to compare the difference in the means of transport pertaining to those specific people who might commute to their respective universities to study as well as work in 2004 and 2009.While the car was the most favored means of traveling in the initial year, It is quite evident to us that the percentage of people traveling by cars dropped significantly from the year 2004 to 2009 and the other modes of transportation went higher up the graph. People started favoring the bus as their main mode of transportation. In 2004 cars were majorly used a s a method transportation by people to travel to a university with 51% using cars while train was the least used transportation method.used by only 3% people. Also evident that people were not really preferring to travel by bicycles, walking or trains as it is seen by their small figures- 9, 4 and 3%. We see a sharp increase from 33% to 46% in the usage of buses as a main means of transport. That is a 13% increase as a new bus stop was implemented at the university in the year 2006. And some moderations were made to the car park according to the data which decreased the percentage from 51% to 28%. However, it can e seen that there has been  slight increase in the use of train as a transportation method by the people to travel to a university with 4% usgae in 2009.

According to the data provided above, the methods of transportation preferred by commuters experienced significant changes due to many factors. We can see that a certain modification was made to the university car park, i.e. parking charges, which led to a 13% decrease from 51% to 28% in the number of people who used cars as a means of travel. Similarly, a new bus stop was put in the university in 2008, and this led to a rise in the number of people preferring to use the bus as their means of transport- from 33% to 46%. in 2004 while people preferred to travel by cars as a more easier method of travelling, in 2009 it changed to buses. It is possible that travelling in public transport is much cheaper than using a fuel based car. We also see that the percentage of bicycle users increases a significant amount from 9% to 16%, as well as an upward trend in the train commuters. The number of bicycle users is about three times the ratio of train commuters, and about 4% of the people preferred to walk to the university. However, the differences in trends of methods of transportation can be considered an immense change noticed during this period. the bar graph hence, has been able to provide a more clear description on the people’s transportation prefreences changing over time.

The pie charts compare the number of people using different methods to commute to a university for studying or work purposes. This is a study from the years 2004 and 2009. In the 5 years, it is quite apparent that the commuters’ preference greatly changed from car to bus. The percentage of people using cars as a means of transport dropped significantly while the bus percentage increased. Other methods also experienced a boost.

In 2004, over half of the people- 51% used cars as their main means of transport to commute to their university. But as the years went on, we see a significant rise- about 13% in the use of buses, and a significant drop in the use of cars- from 51% to 28%. This can be chalked up to the installation of a new bus stop in 2006, and some changes and modifications to the parking charges in car parks in the university in 2008. Another rise in percentage was seen in pedestrians, train commuters and bike riders, Although those traveling by train only saw a rise from 3% to 4%, those who preferred walking saw an increase from 4% to 6%, while bike riders increased from 9% to 16%.
